milk & honey ferment with champagne and kefir grain (scoby)

Honey will kill your grains but I guess it don't matter since you planned on letting them die anyway with the hopes that they will do their job before it happens. My suggestion though would be to make your milk kefir normally with just the grains and milk, then strain the grains and add your...

    Adventures in Kefir

Yea homemade is much more sour than store bought, you can sweeten it though if you want. My wife likes chocolate banana smoothie made with it. At first the sour flavor was to much for me but I kept drinking it because of how awesome it made me feel after only a couple days, I experimented with...

Help! My kombucha looks funny, is this safe to drink?

Looks fine to me to, funny how square it is though. Was it brewed in a square vessel and transferred for the picture or something?

Cider + kombucha for a sour cider?

I plan on experimenting with a kombucha cider when the apples are in season and I'm following a couple threads. My plan is to mix a strong black tea with equal parts of Apple cider and add one of my extra scobys. No extra yeast, just what is in the scoby and the cider, I have made 6% abv cider...

I plan on trying this when the apples are in season. I will be following the thread to see how it turns out.

How would distillers yeast work for skeeter pee? I am considering using it and possibly freeze fortifying.

    Skeeter Pee

I have had all kinds of pepper beers and never liked any of them, I make regular lemonade with jalapenos all the time though. I am worried about doing a large batch and using to much though, for a gallon of fresh lemonade I use two jalapenos but I don't know if a larger batch would use the same...

I'm making two more batches of this soon, I'm thinking of doing one with Jack Daniels barrel chips and one with jalapenos. I love jalapeno lemonade

I bought the stuff to make it last weekend with the intentions of taking it to 4th of July but didn't get it made until yesterday.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Good to know. This is my 4th all grain and only my sixth batch total I learn something new everytime I brew. I appreciate the help.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

That's what I was thinking, as long as the temp is not to high tannins won't be drawn out even with a longer mash. I just wanted to make sure though. I am draining the wort from my mash nice and slow now to give my sparge water more time and prevent a stuck sparge and it should end up ok anyway...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

A quick answer would be appreciated since I'm brewing now, my mash is almost done and my sparge water is not yet up to temp. Would it be ok for this to mash longer than 60 minutes?

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I personally don't like blue moon but I have liked other Belgian witbiers and couldn't decide between that and a blonde so I ended up doing this and was very happy with it.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I used a half oz with my 5 minute hop edition and all cascade hops but other than that I didn't sway from the recipe. The beer is awesome, easily the best I have made and a crowd pleaser for sure, I don't taste orange to much really, it had a slight citrus but probably from the hops, it's not...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I have half a keg left that I brewed with bitter orange peel and all cascade hops and I just bought the stuff to make a ten gallon batch with the normal hops in recipe and the same amount of bitter orange peel. I'm planning to brew this weekend and take a keg to 4th of July weekend. If I brew...

Me too bishop, mine are both first year also. This recipe don't need a lot so I'm hoping to get enough for this at least.

Tonight is the night to backsweeten, I'm thinking about using agave nectar but I'm not sure how much any suggestions, or comments on how it tastes from someone who had used it?

    my first attempt at wine

So I just got a bottle of my Apple wine out to give to a friend and noticed a small amount of sediment. I gave this wine nine months before bottling and hadn't seen any signs of fermentation in a long time. Do you think maybe I just stirred a little sediment up when bottling? There was a fine...
