    lighting dimmers for element control?

I have to chime in on this discussion of controling your element. When I initially got into homebrewing I bought a made in England Brewing Bucket that ran off of a 220v. Controling the element was a device called a simmerstat. It worked by cycling your element on and off the higher the setting...

    Simmerstat Wiring

Bingo award on your wiring suggestions. The P is a lead for a pilot light so I ignored it. For what its worth. I hooked the incoming white wire to the L1 and hooked the white wire to H1 which leads to the elment. The incoming black wire hooked to L2 and hooked the black wire to H2 which...

    Conical Users: Question

I have the conical that both of you are considering. Let me see if I can answer your questions and concerns. >>>That said - when you drain sediment, etc. from the bottom port, the level of good beer falls, correct. So after 2 weeks in a conical, there should be no sediment, and good beer...

Experiences with Fass-Frisch (report them here)

When I started Homebrewing I used these exclusively. I view these as a good lesson on how to keg. I now have been Kegging for the past three years and have a whole set up sitting in my basement. Anyone wanting them shoot me an offer and I would be will to let them go. No reasonable offer...

    Aerating Before Dropping Yeast

I always aerate my cooled wort using O2 and a stone after tranfering to my fermenter. I have always aerated and then dropped my yeast into the wort, sealed everthing up and waited for fermentation to begin. My question is, Can I drop my yeast into my wort and then aerate? Does it make any...

Turkey Fryer with Spigot Drain Good?

I have two identical pots that I use for Mini Mashing. I have to agree that this is just about the minimum size if you are considering All-Grain. The spigots on the pots work alright. The only problem is control flow from the spigot but is not a big deal. Don't believe any of the...

    Review My Pale Ale...

Thanks!!! You have given me something to think about. I had initially stuck the chocolate in to give it a subtle taste. By deleting it and the Vienne and adding the Victory I can see where I can regain a dry toasty taste. How much Victory would you use for a Mini Mash??? TD
