    Spike... I need a conical

That is true assuming people didn't buy multiples per order and they showed the whole list of orders

    Spike... I need a conical

This is where it varies on you level of DIY edness. -Mine I pulled the evaporator fan blade. -Gently bend the copper liquid and suction lines to move the evaporator coil out and submerge into a cooler holding water/glycol. -pull all the window units controls and sensors and just hardwire fan...

    Spike... I need a conical

I think this will work just fine as long as 1. the environment isn't overly warm 2. you aren't trying to control multiple fermentors 3. you aren't trying to cold crash or lager

    Spike... I need a conical

You use multiple refirgerators for different temperatures Yes purpose built glycol chillers are expensive. My window unit version was cheaper than any of my refrigerators. Just takes some DIY

What's th best plate chiller out there right now?

Before I got this sucker chilling 10-15 gallon batches always stressed me with an IC or even a jaded cyclone. The Duda drops the temp ridiculously fast. With moderately cool temp water I can get the whole batch (11g usually) down to ale pitching temps in 5-10 minutes

    Spike... I need a conical

Has anyone heard anything about them eventually releasing a neoprene or similar jacket and a heater? Setting up my glycol and would rather not have a condensate puddle under my conical when cold crashing. I saw a mention of a temp control solution in the future but nothing specific.

    Glycol ratio

It cost more and glycol has poor thermal transfer properties compared to water. It is only used to depress the freeze point. use the minimum amount needed to achieve the temperature needed

    Spike... I need a conical

FYI It looks like they have a hard "very limited" presale date of 6/26. I assume this is for people that signed up for the notifications on this product early on. Then open it up to general public ~2 weeks after

    Glycol chiller question

thats sounds right that is a 33% glycol solution freeze protection to about 5 degrees. Most breweries use a 35% with a glycol set point of about 28 degrees. It should be easily maintaining temp unless something is wrong with the window unit. I have heard of systems like yours cold crashing...

    Glycol chiller question

What is your glycol to water ratio and what is the total volume? how big of a fermentor are you cooling

    Spike... I need a conical

I believe from what I have seen of the limited information they have released this is still the case. I contacted customer service last week and was told end of May/beginning of June. Hopefully this is the case I really keep telling myself it will all be worth it and it seems like they...

Speidel Fermentation Conundrum - no bubbles from blow off tubes

There is a leak somewhere. For those blow of/thermowells are you using the silicone gaskets NORCAL had made for these? Is the O-ring under the spiedel lid? That is the only 2 places you could have a leak. Gotta be one of those

    Spike... I need a conical

The current word is late this month is a limited pre order for sure. delivery in May. They have been really quiet recently because of the backlash of making promises on previous dates and not being able to deliver. Hopefully. Along with more that they are keeping secret at this time because...

    Motorizing mill?

Which model of drum switch did you use? I am eyeballing almost this exact set up. Already have the MM - 3 and I love it

    SS Brewtech Recirc Manifold

Word. This is probably a good idea regardless with a single infusion non recirculating mash

    SS Brewtech Recirc Manifold

This is how I started using mine. I will emphasize that you should only get the 20 if you are planning on doing 10+ gallon batches. I notice a lot of the people having difficulty with this size and reporting poor performance were doing small batches in them leaving a ton of dead air space in...

    SS Brewtech Recirc Manifold

Soooooo anyway I use the recirculation manifold the whole time for mashing/step mashing/mashout/sparge and it works great. Even dispersion of the heated wort or HLT liquor. I do run it for a second at the very beginning to clear the grain bits that made it through the false bottom.

    SS Brewtech Recirc Manifold

Agreed on the barb size. I find If I let mine system recirc for 5-10 minutes to get the grain bits cleared and the bed set it sits on top just fine.

    Conical question.

I will say that throughout me piecing something together for my brewery you always have a good solution for inspiration. Cheers!!
