Last Call- Any interest in a UP brewday?

OK, things are getting down to the final stages before we set out. Weather permitting, we may be heading out Wed night. We plan to be to the cottage on Saturday morning with just simple tent camping and meals on the road. We will NOT be bringing Rocky; it would be just a bit too much extra...

Last Call- Any interest in a UP brewday?

Current plans are to leave Thursday morning after work and drive to Munising for sex in the Rainbow Falls, then off to Mt Shasta (Anatomy Of A Murder) at Michigamme for early dinner, if they haven't closed again and a walk down to the Devil's Ice Hole at the old mine behind it. Camping at a...

    Boycott Magic Hat Brewing Company...

Imagine how George Harrison felt when he got sued and lost for My Sweet Lord ALLEGEDLY sounding like he copied He's So Fine. And didn't it say that BOTH have trademark protection ANYWAY? Boycott Magic Hat cause they suck, not because the owner is paranoid and greedy.

Last Call- Any interest in a UP brewday?

OK, send me the pertinent info; can't promise we'll make it, but I'm thinking of trying. I'd leave on Friday, be there for Saturday, and just work the following Friday nite in place of Sunday nite as normally scheduled. I'd want to just tent camp. Yes, xiang, Shorts sounds cool but it adds a...

    Balancing fitness with beer drinking?

Because formulating a diet regime around copious amounts of craft beer and faithfulness to the glycemic index is too difficult for me, I'm taking the advice of many here and getting a Harley so I can lose weight. :D

    Sifting grain

It's a waste of time. I don't want to see all the things that are in grain; it all gets boiled in the end anyway.

    Need Sausage Gravy Recipe

Christmas with the kids and grandkids was on Sunday. We did breakfast burritos for about 25; large four tortillas, 4 pounds of bacon, 3 pounds of sausage, scrambled eggs, fried hash brown potatoes, salsa, rooster sauce, sour cream, and about a half-gallon of SAUSAGE GRAVY. By special request...

    Beer Allergy Diagnosis???

I've noticed years ago the first two beers I slam in the morning make me sneeze. There is such a thing as being addicted to allergens, I surmise.

    Sodium Bisulfate

Yeah, even though you add very little of an acid to amend the pH, the basic chemicals contained in them make them contribute, sometimes detrimentally, to the desired overall mineral levels. z987k, thanks for catching that-I'm supposed to be sleeping but can't and ain't thinking too good.
  17. HenryHill

    Sodium Bisulfate

But do you want sodium (Na) and SO4 in your mash? Besides the pH adjustment use, consider that you are adding minerals that are contained in the acid you choose. Phosphoric acid is a common brew adjustment acid, but HCl adds chlorine, and helps the Cl/SO4 ratio, so, for me, HCl is where I am...
