I tried three differnt coopers kit and didn't like any of them. They all seemed to have an "off" flavor to them. I even added dme to one of them and still didn't like it. No more cooper kits for me.

I went with the intermediate kit from Midwest Supplies. http://www.midwestsupplies.com/brewing-intermediate-kit-with-two-5-gallon-better-bottle-carboys.html It had everything i needed to get started. I also bought their brown ale kit and it has been my best beer to date.:mug:

My son in law uses Mr. Beer exclusively (because It's easy) and he does not rinse the sanitizer before using the equipment. Me, personally, I rinse the equipment after sanitizing. I do help him drink his Mr Beer and I've never noticed any affect in flavor from the sanitizing solution. What they...

Get a 4 oz. bottle of cherry extract and throw it in the bottling bucket before bottling.

Get a bag of DME and throw it in there. It would be just like one of those Cooper kits.
