Does it really matter? Get used to your system and adjust mash temps up or down bars on the results. At least then all brew easy systems will give the same results (and it course, all systems are different from each other - we only think we are doing the same as our friend on a different system).

Stpauli - thanks for the reply. I know there is a limit to 4 hop additions, but is there a limit on the weight of hops added per addition? Can you use pellet or whole? I assume you can program the timing of the additions? Sorry for all the questions, but getting serious about buying.

Does anyone have any feedback on how smoothly the brewing process is? Any issues with stuck mash for example? How much hands on is there once you hit start? Is it easy to program the various mash steps and boil additions?

In BIAB you can squeeze the bag to reduce the losses associated with grain absorption. Using s typical 11-12# grist and 8.3G starting volume I squeeze until I hit 7G,. Still 15% loss of the original volume, but my usual efficiency is 70%, which I'm happy with. I wonder if there is a way to...

    Update Lazy Magnolia's Southern Pecan

Looking for updates on this: related to the last posts: 2.3% is way too low. Lazy Magnolia's site lists it as 4.39% with 19 IBU, 15 Lovibond. Anyone been perfecting this? Looking for an AG recipe. Thanks!

BIAB uses the entire water volume (typically 8G to start out for a 1.050'ish batch) and I get 70% regularly. I have no trouble with that for the trade off of ease. Higher than that really is only of use for commercial set ups where a few percent means thousands. So you spend $1 more for grain...

The fire and in contrast the MN united make the case quite clear for promotion/relegation. Same as in other pro sports in the US the poor teams continue to stagnate and do nothing to benefit the league Sent from my iPad using Home Brew

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

So, in this article you link to he mentions a dilution method - whereas all grades of invert can be obtained with dilutions of blackstrap molasses into golden syrup (or white invert syrup). Since this seems on the face of it very easy - I'm wondering if there is a down side? It seemed to get the...
