    Starting my electric build

The 44 quart. I think the part number was 1044. I also just ordered ss cam lock fittings for it.

    Probably a dumb question haha.

A 10 gallon might be twice as much. But is the extra $20 going to be that painful on the wallet? I like big beers.

    Developing my palate

I remember when I would buy miller, twenty plus years ago. Now if it isn't a craft beer I usually won't buy it. Variety is nice and I now enjoy strong hops when before I wouldn't finish a beer like that. Strong malty beer goes down so easy. Last night I bottled a trappist. It was so good I drank...

    Starting my electric build

Got the fittings fig welded today at work. Still have to clean it up. But I had to side it in and see how they lined up. Got the fittings welded in the keg too.

    Starting my electric build

I'm glad a saw your mash tun build. I bought two coolers but wasn't real happy about using plastic. Another plus is the slightly larger diameter of the ss pot. I'm tempted to buy another ss pot for the hlt tank. But I'm going to try to take tap water to strike temp with the rims.

    Central Illinois Bulk Grain

Nothing? Can you get grains around Peoria? There's one place in Davenport IA.

    Central Illinois group buy

It would be a little drive for me from the Davenport IA. But I would be interested in a sack of 2the row and a shack of Maris Otter. If we could get some 5 lb bags of Caramel and Roasted Malts I would get some of them too.

    Brew pot suggestions

I bought a nice 40 quart 10 gallon pot. At the time I was doing extract kits. But its a nice ss pot with the thick triple clad bottom. Now I want to go all grain and I want to do 10 gallon batches. Wish I would have spent the extra $20 for the 15 gallon pot now.

    Starting my electric build

I'm going to pull the ss pot out and weld couplers on with the body of the coupler inside the pot, and even or flush to the out side of the pot. So I will have to use a longer nipple to attach the valve and other fittings. I think I may use a food grade silicone around the top of the pot and to...

    Starting my electric build

I think I will do a couple batches before I buy the pumps and every thing else to finish this build. So at first it may be a 3 tier then I plan to use my rod iron 55 gallon aquarium stand to make a single level system.

    Starting my electric build

Well after I cut the treaded part off. I cut a slit up the side of the liner and I was able to pull the liner out. Then I used a sanding disc on my grinder and a saw blade to carve some of the foam out. Test fitted the pot as I went. Then I cut the handles off. I marked where I wanted my...

    My new mash tun

Got my false bottom a couple days ago and my pot yesterday. I hope to get every thing cut and ready today. Going to take the pot to work and tig weld the fittings. Thinking of having 3 or 4 fittings welded to it. Drain, thermostat, recirculation near the top, and maybe a site glass. Time to get...

Electric Brewing on a PLC - Wiring Diagram

I have a DL06 in my drag car that I use for data logging and the dual stage nitrous control. For the price you can't beat them. I also have rs logic 500 on unlimited installs if I were to use a micrologix 1500. Which can be found used on eBay. This may be an interesting thread.

    Electrical Advice

Its funny I feel that way about wire nuts. The first backstage outlets I seen were the spring loaded ones you just pushed the wire in. The only ones I've seen lately, the screw on the side actually tightens a plate against the wire in the back. Solid mechanical connection is a good electrical...

    Electrical Advice

Sounds like someone is afraid of electricity. :) I'm not an electrician by trade but I did stay at a holiday inn. I also work on 480 volt control cabinets, 300,000 vdc power supplies. I would follow the advice of the other post. If you don't want to pig tail it some of the newer outlets...
