My Sour kit is like that the hose is just a little bit bigger then the siphon. I can for sure make things take longer then necessary.

    Help! BIAB Bag tear

Dang that sucks. I BIAB on a propane burner and anytime I have to turn heat back up for mash in I lift the bag a little. I have only done single infusion mash though in my set up. Anything more then single infusion I get the cooler mash ton out for. Good luck on round two! My most recent...

All you can do is laugh....

Agreed! I normally won't until I am at the 60 mins boil mark, or the last full pours out of the bottling bucket.

    Pellicle Photo Collection

I was playing around with making Berliner Weisse a couple different ways... Unfortunately the fruit on this one infected the batch. At first I thought it was just Brett. Well it actually it had some Acetic Acid... So I guess now we have fancy Vinegar, and a plastic bucket that needs to be...

    Pellicle Photo Collection

I took a few Soured Saison and Farmhouse commercial examples and built up a pitch. I adjusted what has become my go to testing bed recipe for about 5.5 IBUs. This thing took off and it was a good while until I saw a pellicle. It went from 1.055 to 1.002 until the pellicle showed up. I just...

All you can do is laugh....

Oh man that sucks. I can not remember what I had going on during that time... But with these two wild little ones running around Im sure I was trying to fit too many things into one day.

    Keeping the other half happy

Once switching over to all grain and going outside that helped. Now I try and keep thing as short and simple as I can . Wake up before everyone and knock out a few things, feed the kids and such during mash in. Because I no chill often at flame out kettle comes inside and we go shopping or...

How do YOU try to reduce your water usage?

As someone else said BIAB, No chill. I just did a raw ale the other day and that was really cool to use next to nothing. Honestly it has little bit less about using less water for me and more about enjoying brew day and have it being simple as I can make it.

Saison Old Country Ale (Lithuanian Farmhouse Ale)

I have used the Jovaru yeast about three or four times in a Farmhouse style of ale. I got all the way down to 1.000 each time for a 7.22% Abv. This yeast made me fall in love with the style and had me testing all kinds of combos now. I really like this yeast. This was my summer jam that has...
