American Wheat Beer Gumballhead inspired WPA

Just made the "updated" extract version of this, today. REALLY looking forward to having a viable summer beer ready soon while I wait for my big IIPA to carbonate. I was shooting for an OG of 1.057 and hit 1.055 which is the closest I've been to hitting my target yet.

What I did for beer today

Just finished a batch of a Three Floyds "Gumballhead" clone. I was targeting an OG of 1.057 and got 1.055. That's the closest I've ever been to hitting my target so it's already making me happy. It's also the first time I used a wort chiller instead of an ice bath and I can't believe I lived...

    Is my LME ruined?

My local store keeps little buckets of LME out on room temp shelves. None of it is refrigerated. I have zero doubt that you're 100% fine.

Results from high temps during beginning of fermentation?

Yeah, I'm letting it hang out for a while. With an estimated 11.7%ABV in the end and being aged with bourbon soaked oak cubes, I'll be pretty far off from Gumballhead. A Gumballhead clone is actually my next recipe though.

Results from high temps during beginning of fermentation?

I recently threw together a bunch of excess ingredients into an "I have no idea what this is supposed to be..." beer. It came out at 1.108 OG and I pitched Wyeast 1762 belgian abbey II into it. I wasn't paying attention to it at first. The next day, I checked my fermometer and it was at 78. The...

Double Boil a 6 gallon Carboy with Wort?

Guys, this guy came here asking if something would be possible or a good idea, everyone told him no and no and gave reasons why and his response was to be condescending and insulting before saying he was going to go ahead with it anyway. I'd call it a closed case at this point. I just hope he's...

Followed Brewers Best Instructions , what the **** is this **** ?

I know you're already way past this but I just discovered this thread and wanted to share my first brewing experience. I decided to try all-grain right from the start. Why? Because I'm a masochist, I guess. The recipe was a random one I found on some other website that no one else had even rated...

Extreme Frustration; What am I doing wrong?!!

Brettanomyces is infamous for this. I was talking to a brewer at Cascade Brewing one day and he said they only made one beer with it, once. Because of how difficult it was to kill off, they decided to never use it again. He said what they had to go through to clean all their lines and tanks and...
