Good Beer in India...Where to find it?

I've got a friend travelling all over right now, and shes in India for 3 weeks. Shes travelling all over the country, but her "base" is in Chandigarh. She'll then move "base" to Kerala for a week, before jumping over to Australia for a few weeks. Shes a beer lover, but can't find much in the...

British Brown Ale Nut Brown AG

Most beers take 3 weeks at 70 degrees in the bottle. Pretty standard.

    My first lager

I'd let it sit, as cold as you can get it (between 34-45) for like, 3 weeks at least. Then bottle it and store for at least 3 more weeks. Lager means to store.

    Show us your SWMBO...

:doh Why isn't it a 21 and up?!?! It's gotta be at least 18 and up to accommodate for places where the drinking age is 18

time to play the "can you name this style by the pictures" game.

I know. Honestly, I want to guess an orange mead, but the glass is preventing me from doing that

    Am i ready to bottle?

Just read more of the thread saw there was a mistake. I'd still sit on it

    Am i ready to bottle?

Man, I'd sit on that beer at least 5 weeks before bottling. Just my opinion, but beers that big need to sit and ferment out for a while, and clean up. If you wait, youll have a better beer going into the bottles, and thus a better beer coming out of them

    Am i ready to bottle?

I wasn't trying to contradict you FYI. I ran the numbers and posted not seeing your post.

    Am i ready to bottle?

My math may be off, but those numbers would suggest an abv of 11.6

How long does it take to hit your mash temp?

If I'm mashing at 154, I usually heat the strike water to around 175 to account for loss due to the mash tun temp and grain temp. Unusually end up a degree or 2 higher than I want, but by the time I get all the dough balls out, it's right where I want it

    Keg Question?

I quit using mine when I got real kegs. But I never used priming sugar on the portion of the beer going into the TAD, always force carbed, out of convenience since I had a ton of co2 cartridges in both 16 and 8 grams. Usually took 2 8g to force carb and 2 to serve, 1 16 to carb and 1 to serve...

    Keg Question?

If you're willing to use 2 16g cartridges (if using a miller or coors homedraft system) or 4 8g (using the tap a draft), you can force carb them

Any homebrewers along the appalachian trail?

Beginning in March, 2013 I'm going to be hiking the entire length of the Appalachian trail from Georgia to Maine. Will finish in Maine probably in mid July. Would love to take a break from the trail and join in on a brew day, or grab a beer at a watering hole.

Budget Brew Stand Ideas - Anyone thought of these?

You could also get a couple bed frames and either weld them or bolt them. They're not too beefy, or heavy when constructed, but they'll hold the weight. Nothing you put on will be as heavy as 2 people

Budget Brew Stand Ideas - Anyone thought of these?

If you do a Brutus, and worried about theft, have whoever does the welding weld on a couple heavy duty i-bolts. Then in your shed, garage, whatever, get a decent hole drilled and cleaned out (maybe 6x6x6 inches) pour a little concrete and stick an i-bolt in. Let it set. Then put a heavy duty...

Yes you would need priming sugar. Or drops/tabs. I'd use priming sugar though.

Worried about my boil kettle build... would love your thoughts

You might want to remeasure. If you've got 6 gallons in a 10 gallon pot that is 12 inches high, you should have roughly 7.5 inches full. Or make sure it's a 10 gallon pot. My math might be off, but that seems like a fairly straightforward equation. If its 10 gallons, 12 inches high, seems like...
