    Change Collector

Hey Guys, I have an old glass carboy that I've been using as a change collector for the last few years. I'm sure there's all kind of bacteria and metal taste in it. Can anyone tell me. If I clean it out with PDW for a good 24hrs and sanitize it with one step for a good 24hrs should I safely...

    Just Hooked Up

Hey guys, I just hooked up the homebrew keg for the first time. I went to purge the air and liquid came out kinda quick, but then trickled down really slow. I have my reg set on 12psi and I have tubing and an airstone. Is this normal am I waiting for everything to equalize or is something messed...

    Save The Beer!!!

Never thought of it like. I'm gonna see how it works out. Worst comes to worst I waste my time bottle 10 or so beers. Hey one more question. Is there a time limit to aging before there is no longer enough yeast in suspension? This brew's been hanging out for over a month now. Am I wasting my...

    Save The Beer!!!

Ok please read with an open mind. Late for bed and no time to go in depth. I have 6 gallons of uncarbonated beer cooling in my refrigerator. I only have a 5 gallon keg to put it in. The original plan was to bottle 1 gallon with carb tabs, this was before I had to refer it to get it ready for...

    All Grain Advantages?

Thanks guys. Not ready for all grain yet, but questions where answer, much of the answers were expected, you just sometimes need to hear them for yourself. Or read them in this case. Anyway But I'll definitely switch to all grain eventually. Got 2 more questions if you don't mind. 1. Is it...

    Beer Experiment

OG was around 1.060 no FG yet. Still in secondary until friday. I used wyeast hefeweizen activator which I believe should handle it. If I would want to go to a higher OG should I use more yeast or a different yeast? Thanks for the input.

    Beer Experiment

Hi, My friend went to Germany and had Hefeweisen there and came home with this amazing idea that we needed to brew some. This is what got me back into brewing. I have basic knowledge and have brewed a few batches in the past. I brewed a kit to get myself back in the groove and after that...

Getting Ready to Keg for the first Time!

I'm not really. Just sounded like something else to do to give the beer a better finish. I figured I've done ales, next kegging, then lagers, then filtering. There's always something new to try I guess. Plus it'll make the beer more visually pleasing to a commercial beer drinker.

Getting Ready to Keg for the first Time!

About how long do you hold the handle open to purge the keg? Or is it no exact science, just doing what you can? Thanks, Mike

Getting Ready to Keg for the first Time!

Hey Guys: I'm getting ready to keg my batch for the first time. I have a couple questions. This brew is a hefeweizen so I'm not going to be filtering it, but I plan I filtering in the future. Because I was reading about filtering I've been reading alot about oxidation and that you have to...
