    cloudy/flat seltzer (using motorized carbonator)

The issue is that they work differently than a keg force carbed at 30 PSI. from http://www.truetex.com/carbonation.htm Also.. instructions for the McCann's are here... http://us.manitowocbeverage.com/docs/uploaded/mbs/us/mccanns/carbonator_install.pdf I have the same one.

    cloudy/flat seltzer (using motorized carbonator)

WOAH... 30 on a carbonator isn't enough. You are supposed to run those at 80 to 100. You also want to follow the instructions on how to "charge" the carbonator itself. Basically you need to bleed the whole tank with water until it comes out of the relief valve (with the gas off).... close the...

Feedback wanted about mini CO2 system for small keg (2.5 gallon)?

Would work just fine for carbonated soda. You can't carb with it though since you can't control the pressure. If you want a mini system to carbonate with you can do Paintball CO2 tanks with a regulator + adapter.

    2 x Automation Direct SOLO 4848-RR PIDs

Hey, I got these two PIDs from a guy on here. They are SOLO 4848-RRs from Automation Direct. Turns out I can't really use them. I am just looking to get what I put into them. They are $50 each + $5 for shipping in a flat rate box. Let me know if you are interested.

    contactors?

This is a safety thing. When SSRs turn off they don't actually disconnect the lines. The contactors are there to completely cut current when the switch is off. If, however, you switched the contactor via the PID (as if it were an SSR) it would destroy it. So basically people use the SSR to...

    A cheaper alternative to Kompensatorzapfhahn?

Nope... this http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-beer/taps-faucets-pid-FCA-A.html also pricey... but works well.

    A cheaper alternative to Kompensatorzapfhahn?

I would think that the pressure differential at the "hole" in the valve would cause a lot of foaming. Micromatic has an adapter that is adjustable flow control that mounts between a standard faucet and shank.

    Digital Temperature Controler

Should work just fine. Two basic ways to wire it... wire your controller on the power outside the unit.. or actually replace the units thermostat.

    Pulsing pour

Is there a lot of foam? And what exactly are you dispensing? Also what pressure was it carbed at?
  14. E

    Pulsing pour

What pressure?... My guess is that it sounds like you have too much resistance (e.g. too long line) and the CO2 is coming out of solution. Either that or it is over carbed.

Why is the indicator light always on?

+1. It's called leakage current. Basically even when a SSR is off some current can flow. It's not enough to turn the element on or heat up or anything, but the indicator lights are designed to take very little power and turn on. You wouldn't want an indicator light that draws as much power...

    Cider Plan... Need Advice.

Ok. SO2 is Campden tables? I think that seems like a better idea. I plan to keg it. Instead of backsweetening though couldn't I just SO2 and sorbate it when I was planning to cold crash?
