    Reducing batch size? Hop amount?

    Hi all, I'm converting 5 gal recipe to a 2.5 gallon. The 5 gal calls for 2 oz of hops how much should I use? I'm a bit confused as my hops have a bit less AA. The 5 gal recipe has 17 ibu's. My recipe comes out to 20.2 using a about a half ounce less?

    So I'm going off a 5 gallon recipe that's a 65 min boil with the first hop in at 60 min. But I scaled it down to a 2.5 gallons. Does this mean I should do a 60 min boil? Or do you think a 45 is ok?

    If I plan on doing a 2.25 gal LME recipe, starting with 2.53 gallons. How long of a boil? I was planning on doing 45 min, does this sound ok?

    If I am looking for a 1.050 gravity, how much LME should I use? Also i would like to end up with 2.2 gallons, we're should my 45 min boil start 2.7?

    Thanks flars, are there any benefits in using a secondary? Will my beer taste any diff? Was thinking about 3 weeks primary then bottle or two weeks primary about 1 week secondary then bottle I'm a lil confused and unsure if this will effect the any flavors?

    Hi, I just noticed that last night the sanitized solution in the airlock has gone flat. It was not bubbling but there were little bubbles in there till yesterday. I think I may move it to a secondary fermenter, good idea? Is this a sign of no more activity? It's 14 days of fermentation today.

    Thank you, this was a very detailed explanation. Today is day 4 1/2 -5 of fermentation and the first 3 days it was going nuts, it was still letting out a bubble here and there this morning, no were near as active. I will do my best to hold on for another week! lol

    Thanks a bunch guys, I noticed today the airlock looked low on sanitized water so gently popped the lid and added more sanitized water. I did notice the bubbles slowed down a bit, it is normal? How long do I wait? Should I use a secondary fermentor? When could I carbonate n bottle?
