American Pale Ale Russian River Row 2 Hill 56 Clone

Water shmater! This beer is tasty. Even my wine making, "best palate" in the world having, father in law loved it. This recipe is going in the keezer rotation.

    Dry hopping in keg

Hey All, Just dry hopped for the first time in a keg. I pulled the bag yesterday and put the keg in the kegerator and hooked it up to co2 and the tap. I let it sit overnight and pulled a glass off of it today. There is A LOT of sediment floating around in there. I currently have the...

    finish gravity prob

Ya, I usually wait 3 weeks too. This recipe called out for 10 days primary, 10 days secondary. Should have just gone with what I normally do. I'll put the disconnect on. Thanks.

    finish gravity prob

I just racked like 15 min ago. I'm almost thinking I should re-rack into the carboys and back on top of the yeast cake, or pitch more yeast in the keg??

    finish gravity prob

10 days in primary Not carbed Beer temp is currently 70 degrees

    finish gravity prob

Just transferred from primary to secondary (keg). I didn't check the gravity (like a fool) until after I transferred. I'm at 20 gu's on one keg and 13 gu's on another. My target is 8 gu's!! It's a pale and supposed to be relatively hoppy, but all I can taste is the sweetness of the...

    Oxidizing beer

Ok, just finished racking beer from my fermenter to my corny keg for the first time. I ran the beer through a strainer at the top of the keg and let it fill the keg up. There was lots of splashing/foam. I didn't realize my mistake until I was done filling the keg. Did I just ruin this batch...

    yeast left out...

Ok, so I accidently left my 2 vials of wl300 out yesterday. Prob been out for 17 hours. Do I need 2 new vials or is that yeast ok to use today?

    Possible stuck fermentation...

Last night I brewed 10 gallons of Saison. I split the batch into two buckets, pitched the yeast and went to bed. Woke up this morning and both air locks were rocking and rolling. I left the house for the day and just got home and checked out the beer. One air lock is still bubbling away...

    Infection

The bubbles are huddled around a hop bag... I have 2 5 gallon batches of beer in 2 seperate carboys. They are in secondary now. I dry hopped both and only one carboy has the weird white bubbles around the hop bag. It still smells good... If infected is there any way to save it?

Is this infected?? I'm thinking yes....

    Bottle condition in fridge

Nice video. It gives me some assurance that waiting would be ok. The reason I think that it will be over carbed is that when I opened a beer (2 of them actually) at 5 days post bottling, both beers were carbed. I could see the bubbles in the beer and def feel the carbonation on my tongue...

    Bottle condition in fridge

I would prefer to do that as well.... I just don't want to leave it out and have an over carbonated beer. The only reason that I want to put it in the fridge is to slow the yeast down.

    Bottle condition in fridge

Sooooo, I bottled a hefe last Sunday. Just for kicks I popped on of the hefe's today (5 days later) and it's already carbed up! The beer tastes good, but def tastes young. I would like to put the beer in the fridge to stop the carbonation but I'm worried about the conditioning of the beer in...

    Fermentation question

Thanks for the replies. I do another terribly newbie-ish question... I looked at the calculators and understand the process of making the starter, but how long should I let the starter ferment before I add it to my wort? For example, if I'm brewing on a saturday, should I make my starter on...

    Fermentation question

Hypothetical question here... I've calculated my grain bill using a 68% efficiency and a gravity reading of 60gu's. Let say that my efficiency ends up being 75% and my new gu reading is around 67. So in order to get down to 60 gu's I need to add about 1/2 gallon of water. I plan on using a...

    High OG

Hey guys, first post here so take it easy on me! Just finished brewing my second batch of home brew last Saturday and post boil I had an OG reading of 67 gu's. I was shooting for 55 gu's. I figured that I would just roll with the higher gravity and have a stronger beer. Well I just took a...
