This is the Baltic porter I brewed over a year ago.. all I can say is wow. Fricken delicious. Amaze myself sometimes!!. Thanks for the suggestions.

I was using distilled water in the past, but I have recently been mixing distilled and house water recently. Last 2 brews were with house water. One is still in the fermenter and the other is a Baltic porter which turned out pretty good imo!.. guess I'll have to go back to distilled water and...

Yes my faucets get black build up on the screens.

The Brewers friend doesn't tell u what u need to add. Just what happens to the numbers when u add ingredients to it. Thanks for the sulfate clarification 👍.

I can try to do that, since it's cold enough that I don't have to put it in the kegerator til probably April or so.

So I kegged it a week ago. And took a hydrometer reading of it also. At 1.014. So I ended up with a 8.2% abv .. and it tastes pretty darn good . Took some samples to a beer club meeting and gave some out and they all thought it was pretty good too. Thanks for all the help.

My og was 1.078 going into the fermenter. You were spot on. Added the two packs of us05 and into the fermentation chamber with temp set to 64 degrees. Chilled it a little to long . It was down to 56 degrees going into the fermenter. Installed the airlock .

Down to little over 5 .5 gallons now.adding my flame out hops.
