    Using Bru'n Water Spreadsheet

Ohhhhh I see! You're right, I was under the impression this outputs values for the water adjustments. My misunderstanding. All good then, I will work on it.

    Using Yeast Nutrient

So I am using RO water for my brew. It has a PH of 8 before mash. The water additives I have are Epsom salt, gypsum and calcium chloride, recommended to me. Now I am just wondering How do I determine how much of each I would need to get me started. Thanks for everyone's replies and information...

    Using Yeast Nutrient

You mentioned mash PH. I just learned that my water, before mashing has a PH of 8! Which is pretty high, ideally you want it around 5.2, am I right? Will a high PH in water affect the fermentation? I already looked into getting water treatment for my next batch.

    Using Yeast Nutrient

Good day folks. Is using yeast nutrient necessary? Most of my beers I am using US-05 yeast, I have a friend who's using the same yeast in his fermentation seems to be nicer and "heavier", if you will, than mine. Just wondering how the yeast nutrient will affect then end result beer. Thank you.

    Mash water Miscalculation

I got the ingredients and directions from a friend, without a recipe. So I don't have an OG today. I did have 2 hop additions. For the next batch I will use a recipe and make sure I know my OG before getting started. And ask here if I have any questions. Thank you for your time and help.

    Mash water Miscalculation

Yes I'm simply raising the basket out and rinsing off the grains. Always thought this was referred to a fly sparge, but I guess not. Not using any software, as I am still learning. I am not sure what my aim is for gravity, how is this determined? My pre boil gravity is 1.040 but I have actually...

    Mash water Miscalculation

Yes, I am recirculating. It's a light beer by choice, yes. I just fly sparge, pour the 9L of water of the grain and let it rinse thru. When do I take a gravity reading then? New to brewing, so please bear with me. :)

    Mash water Miscalculation

Hello. I made a mistake when I calculated my mash water. I have 9.5lbs of grain, and 19 litres mash water in my brewzilla, and then 9 litres for sparging. I had the grain in before I realized my mistake. So now my mash is very watery. I am wondering if this will work. Will I still get good...
