I'm no expert, but i have been servicing them for the last five years:) [terribly gross things, bacteria and usually a dead pigeon floating in them.... gross......] on the evaporative cooling side of things, they usually hold a temperature requested to maintain a chillers high side condensing...

One thing that may be useful, is the more dry the climate is the better these will work, and inversely if you have a very humid climate you may find a horrible approach on the tower. i am curios how it'll work though, for me in canada i just use our near freezing ground water:)

Ive thought of this a little while ago, looking at the PH shield, and a small 12VDC dosing pump! Good luck on the build, id like to see how it turns out!.

So... Im thinking to myself... "do i want to buy a nice new freezer from costco, or a couple heat exchangers from ontario beer kegs, and put them in a small fridge.?" Point of the question is i have had some pretty good beers from a jockey box heat exchanger... if i am about to get set up...

I know as a refrigeration tech most of the silver solder I use has a certain phosphorus content. I would suspect if you find the silver solder data sheet you may find #8 lends itself to food processing better:) However if they are the same then I'm stumped! Please post back and let me know!

Sounds like you need a food grade diaphragm pump (seen a few 12vdc ones on eBay for 35-50$) or a polystaltic pump (not sure if those ones are as cheap) either should do the job for ya though

I totally agree! I get those bubbly lemon or lime flavoured waters and they're great! Overall some great answers! And good to know the hobby doesn't just die when I put on the dad hat! Even better to hear you can put your kids to work in the brewery haha! Definitely keeping the drinking down...
