New and want to go bold, what you think?

go big or go home. that looks good, i guess the high OG is from the brown sugar. honestly trial and error is the way to go when your new, like me. just do whatever interests you and modify until it works. i want to make a barley wine next, which may kill me... or just make me feel warmer than usual.

Should I use a Hydrometer Now?

use a thin tester tube, you use less beer. all you need is enough that the hydrometer can float freely.

Should I use a Hydrometer Now?

agreed, but I don't think taking multiple readings is necessary. Plus it's a little dangerous contamination-wise. anyways, wait for fermentation to subside, check gravity, wait a day, check again. good? rack.

Should I use a Hydrometer Now?

there's really no point in taking a hydrometer reading until after fermentation has pretty much finished (you will see very little air-lock activity [bubbles] and pretty much no foam). I'm assuming that you've taken an Original Gravity reading before you pitched the yeast into the wort. You can...

is PURE Peach Juice cider possible?

-could you possibly fill me in on the pasteurization technique? I am against using chemicals in my brews, but i just assumed that it would be a ridiculous process that requires industrial machines... or something.

is PURE Peach Juice cider possible?

Anybody know whether or not it is possible, to use peach juice (no apple base) to create a cider. Just peach juice and maybe honey and seasoning, but no apple juice. I've been searching for recipes for this but all the ones that I found had an apple base, so that makes me think there might be a...
