making the most of my small garage

The bigger concern is the temperature in your garage. The point is to try and keep it out of the light as much as possible, but sometime it's inevitable. What temp is your garage?

    Is it turbo toast?

I recently had a priming sugar accident in my kettle. I am just curious if I should consider it a lost cause and buy another one, or if there is a way to salvage it. I wouldn't normally use my kettle for priming sugar, but I am in the middle of a move and all the other pots and pans are packed...

Found a good deal on copper tubing

The issue is where it says "1/2"IDX60' L COPPER TUBE". Slightly misleading. Especially considering the average person doesn't use LF regularly.

Found a good deal on copper tubing

Definitely a mis-print. You should contact the company and see if they will honor the price as stated. If they are big enough they will. Super mis-leading on their part. They should have a price per foot, and price per 60' roll.

    Obligatory first brew freak out

The ever scary first brew. Welcome to the obsession! First off, your beer will definitely round out in the next couple of weeks. Once bottled it will change in ways you never thought possible. On my first brew ( a Dunkel) I tasted it when I was racking it to secondary. It was terrible. The...

My beer seems to be conditioning very slowly

After a quick look at the OP's account it appears that he/she refuses to answer this question. They have been asked it numerous times including other posts regarding concerns he/she has/had with this same beer but I couldn't find an actual straight answer. I think you're probably right on this...

My beer seems to be conditioning very slowly

+1. Never had any issue with this, but it seems to be a sore subject for some. The swirling method works pretty well IMO.

My beer seems to be conditioning very slowly

There are a few things that could effect consistency in terms of carbonation. 1. Method- What type of sugar, and how much? There is definitely a little science involved, but it is pretty easy to figure out. Personally, I use 5 Oz (I think) of priming sugar, and boil with 1 cup of water. My...

    Bud Light rocks....read on...

HA! I am sitting at a local pub drinking a Left Hand milk stout reading this thread aloud to a brewing buddy of mine. When I read the part about "budlution" I lost it. Practically had milk stout coming out my nose. That is some good stuff. You obviously got down on some of your concoction tonight.

    Bud Light rocks....read on...

    1. You may not know it, but you just opened the HBT flood gate. 2. The home brew beer gods will get their revenge on you for this transgression. 3. Yes, you are drunk. 4. To each their own. 5. Ick. IMO, but refer to number 4. 6. The beauty of home brewing is that you can brew your next...

Little to no activity in secondary...

Everything should be fine. I never get any activity when I secondary, unless I move it over too early.

    First Brew Attempt

The only difference will be a clearer beer. Hardly a bad thing. The time has only helped this brew.
