Issues with slow end of frementation with BIAB method

Gravity measurements are the best way to determine if fermentation is complete. I've had two brews with kveik be finished fermenting but still had a quarter inch of krausen on top in the fermenter

    What are you drinking now?

I don't understand the target demographic for this beer. It's 7.5% ABV and it tastes like apricot face scrub. I needed bottles and it unfortunately came in the current SN variety pack

What I did for beer today

Brewed 2 gallons of Amarillo blonde with Voss kveik. Haven't been happy with my pales and IPAs with Voss, but once upon a time I made a citrusy blonde ale with it that was quite nice. Hoping to get an easy drinking, not too hoppy, session beer.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Brewing a small batch of Amarillo Blonde tomorrow with kveik :) first brew in a new apartment and wanted something simple to see if the stove is up to snuff for 2.5 gal of wort. Fingers crossed

    Most overrated beer

There's almost always Coors Light in my fridge for the non craft drinkers. Or Bud Light Lime...surprisingly refreshing on a hot day and not as gross as Corona. And no need to chop/buy limes...please don't kick me off the forum lol

    Podcasts about homebrewing

I disagree! The one with just you and Josh is pretty good I think :) it inspired me to try fermenting non-beer things, like kombucha and pickles

No love for Homebrew Happy Hour out there? I've learned a lot from that one. Ads aren't too bad, but I do fast forward through the small talk at the beginning of each episode lol

    Kolsch question

I've brewed one kolsch and I used Lalbrew Koln yeast fermented at 65F. Bottled after 7 days and lagered in the fridge for a couple weeks once carbonation conditioning was complete. It ended up scoring well at a non-BJCP competition and it did not last long at my house either lol

    Epiphanies

I think my epiphany was that I'm really picky about the beer that I drink. And going along that vein, just because a professional craft brewery made it, doesn't mean it's a good beer. There's a lot of bad beers out there at the commercial level. Now if only I could consistently brew beers that I...
