What ever happened to beer balls?

You are correct. In the late eighties and early nineties, Coors released a similar product called a party ball.

Cop gives ticket to man rushing wife to hospital

Not necessarily. I have a cousin who didn't even know she was pregnant until she was in her ninth month. Also, very heavy women can be difficult to tell if they're pregnant or not. You can't always tell by sight alone. What this cop should have done was taken the guys statement as a...

C02 and Cornys in Los Angeles?

If that kegerator is set up for sankey kegs, you're going to have to convert it to accept ball-lock kegs as well. CHI is a great company and has everything you need except for gas.

    Quick reply needed, first brew!!

At least another week (and this is assuming the kit came with an ale yeast rather than an actual lager yeast.) First off, each beer has its own personality and will develop according to it's own schedule. The temps and fermentability of the wort are almost certainly not going to be exactly those...

    Hops removal from wort

It'll be fine. You'll just have a lot of crap on the bottom of your fermenter is all. If you secondary, the excess will settle out and little if anything will be present in the bottle.

Help! Krausen foaming out of carboy!

It's good and bad. Having a blowoff proves that you have a very active yeast and it should ferment out properly, however it can also indicate too high of a fermentation temperature or not enough space in the fermenter for the krausen. Also, a lot of beer can be expelled in a blowoff. The bigger...

Starter Question - can you use muntons package yeast

I should add that the rehydration process just wakes the yeast up so they ferment sooner. Also, it can help prove the viability of the yeast. Check the package directions for rehydration instructions. Some don't need it at all.

Starter Question - can you use muntons package yeast

The goal of a starter is to build up an adequate number of healthy yeast for proper fermentation. With dry yeast (unless it's very old or mishandled) does not require a starter because the drying process preserves the yeast and there are actually more viable cells in dry versus liquid. In fact...

Pitching wort onto a cider cake?

What was the OG and FG of your cider and did you use a lot of added sugar in it? Also, how long did you ferment it?
