    Recovering from hail

Have you put anything down for fertilizer or soil amendments? If so, what? Also, in your opinion, how would you rate the health of your plant prior to the storm and is there any foliage and stem left?

Belgian Dark Strong Ale Rochefort 10 clone

Add it to the boil. I put mine in at the thirty minute mark. Just make sure to stir it until it's dissolved completely.

Wild brews supposed to smell a bit funky?

How does it look and at what temps and conditions are you fermenting? What was your recipe?

I've found it..I've found the Holy Grail!

Go ahead and drink one. Not much point in putting down all that cash for it if you're not going to drink it.

No, they don't use any bacterial culture in this.

    Beer Tattoos

I saw a picture a while back of a big fat guy with a tattoo of the top of a six pack on his belly. I thought that was pretty awesome.

My Hefe is now 4 weeks old, and still in the primary. Now it looks brown..

Go ahead and bottle or keg it. One month is fine for a hefeweizen.

    What'd ya get?

I got a package of Pepsodent toothpaste, an LED flashlight, Axe deodorant spray, a bottle of cold medicine, a chocolate orange, a box of cordial cherries, six pairs of socks, a generic Rubiks cube and a book of puzzles. It's the thought that counts, right?

    Do you secondary?

The only times I use a clearing vessel are when I intend to dry hop, add fruit or bulk age for an extended time. Other than that, it's three-four weeks in the primary then keg or bottle.

    Ruined Beer?

Only time will tell, I'm afraid. Just proceed as normal and judge it by the end result. How did the clearing vessel get tipped over?

my beers are finishing low all the sudden

Pitching on a cake can lead to some higher attenuation due to the presence of significantly more viable yeast versus even starter-pitching. This may be the root cause of your lower gravity readings. Do you add the wort to the entire cake or do you scoop a little out first then add the wort?
  17. eddie

    Wow, that's really good!!!

Congratulations for a successful brew!!! Age does do wonders for a beer. What are you brewing next?

    Is my brewery name lame???

If you like it, use it. Call it whatever you want and screw whatever anybody else thinks of it. It's yours and yours alone.

    Is there a standard!?!?

As far as ingredients go, a lot can be learned by studying recipes (particularly those of award-winning and classic example beers) for any given style and comparing them against the BJCP guidelines with respect to the particular style.

    Is Aluminum Safe??

Aluminum will make your testicles explode and cause blood to shoot from your nipples like a lawn sprinkler.
