Anymore of you extract guys/gals out there?

You still need to have a preference, even if you use a couple different methods. For example, I do partial mashes when making a big beer because I don’t have a big enough mash tun. However, given unconstrained equipment, I’d fly sparge.

Hello all, feed my inquisitiveness . . . how many all-grainers do we have and how do you do things?

That could be the case, my Steelhead is brand new. I think once money allows, since I want a second pump anyways, I'll go for the Nano March pump.

I'm interested in hearing more about pump options, hence the resurrection. With current setup I've got a 50' 3/8" copper coil as a HERMS heat exchanger. My 1/20 HP Steelhead does alright, but leaves a little to be desired. I certainly wouldn't spend the money to bump up to the pumps listed...

It does flow, but slower than I'd have thought or liked. I have the Northern Steelhead which is rated at the same 1/20 HP of the Chugger. In time I'll be adding a second pump and wonder if there's any pump that produces higher pressure.

I'm going to guess the temp wouldn't be an issue. What I'm unsure of is moisture, it's a somewhat sealed system where you'll get prolonged exposure to moisture. I think if you want it inside, maybe hardwiring and just dealing with sealing the wire into your project box would give you greater...
