    Ginger beer (alcoholic)

Let's say if you don't make a big batch, maybe 1-2 gallons, then after you bottle you could store the bottles in the fridge and drink them at your leisure without worry of continuing fermentation and bottle bombs. Am I on the right track here, or should one fear bottle bombs even in the fridge?

    First GingerAle, smell musty/almost moldy

I make quite a lot of ginger beer (non alcoholic), so I will try to help you out a bit. :mug: 1. For any brewing project never, ever use bakers yeast as it will produce unwanted, off flavors. This is a no-no in my opinion. If you live where there is a home brew store, you can get wine yeast...

    5L mini keg priming

Do none of your guys' kegs come with a pressure relief valve????

The stupidest comment on your beer

A great Paulaner Clone kegged at 8psi after one week served at 5psi, a friend said: "Dude, this is good, but there this WAY too much carbonation going on here! And it's cold. Hefeweizen should be served warm." My response: "WTF are you talking about!" :ban:

    Star Trek or Star Wars?

Star Trek Original Series all the way. Captian Kirk, Bones, Spock, Scotty, Sulu... and ALL the beatiful women! :rockin:

Crushing a pound at home? Without mill?

I got one of those old style, manual coffee grinders from an antique store. I cleaned it up inside and out and it works great. The large setting gets pretty large, so it works just fine. The only downside is you can only do about 2-3 handfuls at a time. Doing one pound of grains this way...

Strange gelatinous funnel monster in ginger syrup.

Well, I took your advice for an experiment and tasted only the clear portion. It is hands down probably THE BEST ginger syrup I have ever had, ever! :rockin:

    Found beetles in grains... pissed.

I just wanted to add that I did go down to the brew store and chat with the boys. All in all they were totally nicer in person and apologetic and we spent some time bsing about fruit additions - which was helpful. Also, refunds available if I would've brought in the few beetles in the grains...

Best Lube for Sliding Glass Door?

:off: Once I was researching for the best all around bike chain lubricant back when I was really into biking long distance. In my 'research,' I discovored loads of people who wrote extensive articles on not only using extra virgin olive oil, but even using melted butter as a chain lube - so long...

Strange gelatinous funnel monster in ginger syrup.

So, I made some awesome ginger syrup about 3-4 months ago, and totally forgot about it in the back of the fridge because I've been making ginger beer instead of doing the syrup-mix thing. Anywho, I had some bottled sparkling water laying around this evening and I remembered the syrup in the...

    Home brewer Sauerkraut?

This is so true. I'm really into cooking, and especially experimental cooking. I enjoy being in the kitchen... the swmbo... sadly not so much these at all. More food for me! But yeah, pickling things definetly got me into brewing too. Maybe its because I need a good beer along with my pickled...

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

I had the same experience (especially because of summer heat), but mine still came out great in the end - keep reading. I tasted mine after about 10 days even though there seemed to be little if no action for 5 days, and it tasted like vinegar at first. HOWEVER, I just let it go for the time...

    Weissbier Paulaner-style Hefe Weizen

This beer sure did come out A-Mazing. It's a very simple and quick recipe too. I drained the whole 5 gallon keg in two weeks almost all by myself :drunk: Anyway, I have been thinking a lot about adding a slight hint of rasberry to this recipe and am curious if anyone out there has tried it...

The adventures of a complete noob and a brew rig

Very nice, but there is still something just awesome about doing it the 'old-fashioned way' on the deck with a single banjo burner and an 8 gallon kettle without electric controls. This is like, digital brew. Rock on. :mug: P.S. I am jealous of your stainless steel mesh hop strainer :p

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

ElCapitan, I'm glad someone else had a similar experience. Strange that mine only took 3 days to get a million times better though... did you leave it in the prime for a month or did you secondary?

    Graff (Malty, slightly hopped cider)

Well, we can all just ignore my last few posts because this stuff turned out great 3 days later.:mug: No vinegar taste at all. I admit I was a bit tipsy when I took the sample - too much Hefe. What a great recipe! I did however backsweeten with one can of condensed AJ to bring up the final...

There is a cat hair in my carboy of cider

Don't worry a bout a single cat hair. :off: Don't even know if I had to make the joke - as it was obvious - but I wanted to say something about the cat picture involving a bald pu$$i licking pu$$i but was a afraid I would get in trouble. :D Hee Hee. So, shoot me... it's been a hell of a...

What are you listening to (music!!!) right now? Embarrassing or not... share

I'm really liking this sort of stuff right now. Makes me want to drink more and dance around the kitchen. Nothing wrong with that. :mug: These songs are by Paul Cantelon:
