    Transporting cold corneys

^Whoa that's a sweet idea! I have been contemplating making a jockey box, but I think I like the 5 gallon cooler idea a bit better. Definitely a cheaper option that's for sure! How do you go about transferring from your 5 gallon keg to the 3 gallon? Just right off the tap or what?

Girl Scout Cookie Caramel Delites (Samoas) Beer

I have been working on my own Samoa recipe for a brew day coming up next week. I plan to add a few boxes right into the mash then coconut in the secondary. As mentioned, my only concern is the fatty oils. I was wondering if anybody knew any tricks to minimize this.

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

So if you flip back a couple pages you'll see how cloudy this beer was. Honestly I have been so busy I haven't had a chance to keg this yet and when I finally got around to it last night the beer was super clear! I used 2 packs of Nottingham in this batch and I think that had a large role in the...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

What the heck happened here!? I just went to check my gravity and this beer turned out super cloudy. The taste and aroma are spot on, but man this beer is ugly! Here's a comparison between the last time I brewed this, and the most recent time. I thought this brew was one of my most successful...

    Keezer in a freezing garage

I've unfortunately experienced the negative effects of having my keezer in the garage. Usually here in Colorado we don't get too cold, and especially because my garage is attached, the temps stay relatively warm. A couple months ago we had a really cold week and the day after I put my 10%...

I want an AWESOME bottle brush!

I usually just snip the circle off the of the wire brush and pop that into a drill. The bristles still wear out over time though. Gonna follow this thread to see what other options come up.

    Show us your Kegerator

I was really digging the clean sleek look. I've got stickers all over mine, but it's just a normal keezer with no dress up. To each their own...

    Show us your Kegerator

Yea I really like that idea for easy access! My only concern is the lack of insulation on that side.

    Chocolate Espresso Stout

Brought a couple bottles of this to a homebrew exchange and they were both drained right away! Thanks again for a great recipe. Can't wait to tweak a few things and do it again!

    Chocolate Espresso Stout

It's a joke bro. 16 oz of anything is just another way of saying 1 pound. It's like asking how many inches of string is in 1 foot of string...lol

    Chocolate Espresso Stout

What about 1 lb of grains? How many oz is that? Or coco? Or espresso? Or brown sugar? ;)

Funny things you've overheard about beer

According to the credible Wiki "Guinness Original/Extra Stout: 4.2 or 4.3% ABV in Ireland and the rest of Europe, 4.1% in Germany, 4.8% in Namibia and South Africa, 5% in the United States and Canada, and 6% in Australia and Japan." Maybe I'm about to learn something new, but I took this to...

Funny things you've overheard about beer

I was at a pub in Moab UT last week and while talking about Utah's dumb 3.2% ABV law with my bartender she tried to tell me that Guinness is 3.2% everywhere already so it's not a big deal...

    Breckenridge vanilla porter

Anybody??? I plugged this into BeerSmith and the IBUs were a tad high. I'd like to reduce the hops a but unsure where.

    Help! My kegerator exploded!

I accidentally did a similar thing without thinkin about it. I noticed the post was leaking so I tried to push down the pin to reset it and got a blast of stout in my face lol. DING DING DING!!! We have a winner. I finally got around to troubleshooting a bit and found that when I hooked it...
