    ghetto brew setups?...

Couple of cinder blocks would probably get you up high enough so you can gravity drain to a fermenter. Plus they'll match your current theme. Cheers.

    my small footprint 110volt-1500watt system

Great job man. Really clean and obviously you paid a lot of attention to detail. I for one would love some more detail on your process/workflow. What is pre-boil volume and how is that 1500W element handling it? Again - really nice work on this. Enjoy it. Cheers.

Best deal on buying hop pellets

I regularly use quart jars to store pellet hops. 1lb pretty much fits perfectly. Sometimes it might be a little tight, but if you just wait to open the vacuum bag until you need to use some of those hops it works out. Cheers.

Need Help Putting the Red in My Irish Red Ale

eyedoc - Great looking beer. I'm doing a red soon and my recipe is really close to yours. Regular 2-Row instead MO, and 80L instead of 120L. Otherwise exactly the same, even the percentages. Weird. Anyway, question for you - do you use BeerSmith or some other brewing software and, if so...

    Brewing tomorrow - HELP NEEDED

Seems solid man. I bet you'll do better than 60% on the mash efficiency but like you said, no problem if it comes out a little higher on OG. Plus you'll have that data for next time. If it were me I'd probably try to find something else to bitter with, but that's just a matter of taste. It's...

Brewery / Bar - Garage Build (planning, need input)

Wow man, so jealous of your space. The fact that you've already got the 100A sub panel is choice. Assuming you'll be brewing electric, are you thinking 30A or 50A for the brewery? Don't forget to figure out and install your ventilation solution before closing everything up. Also, not sure on...

Heating strike water directly in mash tun

Another vote for this type of system. I use a more ghetto version involving a bucket heater and a lamp timer, but it still works really well. Big fan of waking up and being able to mash in straight away. Cheers.

    Le Fûgidaire v2.0 - 6 tap keezer/bar

So awesome dude. Your builds are inspiring. Good luck on this project and keep us updated. Cheers and enjoy the brew.

    My New Keezer

Nice work man. The collar looks sharp. That is the exact setup I'd like to have - 2 taps, but storage for 4 - 5 kegs. Let the taps floweth uninterrupted. Cheers and enjoy the brew.

    Post Your House Pale Ale/APA!

1.050 OG 1.010 FG 5.2% ABV 55 IBU (Tinseth) Grain 96% 2-Row 4% Crystal 60L Hops Bitter with Warrior to about 25-30 IBU. Grab the rest of the IBUs at 15 and flameout/hopstand with whatever hop(s) sound good at the time. I tend to go with no more than 2 or 3 varieties. Yeast US-05...

    New house means new equipment.

I dig that sign above your control panel and your setup gives me a brewner. Cheers and enjoy the new rig.

    Whirlpools methods and benefits

In my experience, using a pump (like the one in your picture) to whirlpool definitely helps with keeping kettle debris out of the transfer. When I used to do it, I always got the infamous 'cone' of stuff in the middle of my kettle. I've read about some folks have trouble getting the 'cone', but...

Mineral Creek Brewery - Start to Finish e-HERMS basement electric brewery build

One of the most amazingly implemented and presented builds I've seen on here. Really nice work dude - you should be proud. You've inspired me to re-assess the organization of my own rig. Perhaps a project for this weekend. Cheers and enjoy the brews.

Wort Chilling on a (WATER) Budget

I do this as well. You said you don't have a chamber at the moment, but it's something you might keep in mind for the future. They're nice to have for dialing in fermentation temps - plus you get the added bonus of being able to "finish off" your chilling process in the chamber. Good luck and...

Best way to aviod a hangover!

This. Everyone is different, but I've found a major correlation between beers close to bed-time and hangovers. I shoot for a two hour window between that last pint and going to bed. Plus I chug waters during that window. Between that strategy and brewing almost exclusively 4.5 - 5% beers, I feel...

To The New Brewer - Extract Or All Grain

Nice article. FWIW, I've had great luck turning newbies on to brewing with a simple 2 - 3 gallon stovetop BIAB process. Nothing against extract at all but, at the risk of making a generalization, most folks end up doing all-grain anyway. A simple stovetop BIAB brew doesn't require much more in...

    IPA and mosaic hops

I made an IPA last year that was all Columbus and Mosaic. Equal parts if I remember right. It was really friggin good - that's a great combo in my opinion. I'm sure having some Amarillo in there will make it all the better. Good luck with the brew and I hope you enjoy it. Cheers.

Tangential heating elements to allow better trub formation during whirlpool?

Another option to consider is getting two of BrewHardware's HotRod heatstick assemblies. They come with hardware that allows you to secure them to your kettle. They can then easily be raised up after the boil and are out of the way of your whirlpool. I do this with 2x 2000W elements for 5...
