If the PID element is enabled, it is "started" so to speak. Generally I think most people are using scripting to enable/disable power elements. You could use a switch and then write a small script that checks the state of the switch every second. If the switch is on then enable the PID...

Try just using USB for the power source.

208wye system but i want to run 5500w elements

Maybe I missed it as part of the discussion, but why not use elements designed for 208v? https://ebrewsupply.com/collections/elements

The spec for a PT100 is usually 0 ohms at 0C and ~138.5 ohms at 100C. I can't see how additional lengths of wiring would introduce less resistance in the circuit (sans a short somewhere), so I don't think that would be the issue. If it were me, I would remove the RTD from the amplifier and...

Do you think you could be getting some temperature stratification? Have you pulled the probe and measured it against a small pan of something boiling? Also, where are you elevation wise? I live at about 900' and my boil temp is around 209.

How big is your HLT? Are you recirculating while heating? Also, where is your temperature probe in comparison to where you took a manual reading?

More than likely you are probably going to end up gutting your panel anyway. You can reuse your heating elements and SSRs (probably), but the discreet PIDs you have will be gone, a lot of your manual switching will be gone (I like ON|OFF|AUTO switches), and depending on what temperature probes...

If directly connecting, you will not only need a static IP set on the MEGA, but a static IP on your computer as well (in the same subnet). For example: MEGA - 10.10.0.10/255.255.255.0 PC - 10.10.0.11/255.255.255.0

Is there a graph on screen when it throws the fault? If so, delete and recreate it... that solved the issue for me.

I just wanted to second this as having the same issue. I can open the DE just fine on the initial BC launch. If I keep the DE in the background I don't have any issues (locked/unlocked didn't seem to matter). If I close out of the DE, I am unable to open it again until I close and relaunch...

I really like the Data Explorer, it is a very welcome addition. A suggestion for an enhancement would to be add Beginning/End date pickers to be able to look at a slice in time without having to load days or months worth of data points.

FYI, May have found an issue - "Port ID and Element ID differentiated. The “ID” property is still there and is equal to the ElementID when it is a non-device element. It is equal to the PortID if it is a device element. The data logging is always using the ElementID." My analog inputs are not...

If you isolated a single relay and your problem went away, it might be that single relay causing the problem. Either way, replacing the board is a good call, though I believe you will get a lower total mA draw using active low vs active high boards.

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Are you using "active low" relay boards with flyback diodes built in (or added)? I have 32 relays and initially I was afraid of the same issue you are describing. Using active low boards with discreet power sourcing, I can cycle all 32 simultaneously with no ill effects. From your post, I'm...

I'd be interested in a Sabco fermenter, are you willing to ship? 45248 is my zip.

Mine works great, especially in fairly close space related to the fermenters. I also, as expected, see increased signal strength on the WiFi side as well.

Every split has insertion loss, so you'd have to calculate the DB gain from the antenna minus the splitter loss to see if you are helping or hurting yourself. It *might* work fine, but I've never done it on small 2.4ghz units.

Sorry to hear the external antenna isn't doing the job for you. Mine is mounted in the same fermentation space so at most its a few feet away from the sanke with the Tilt in it. If you have had a chance to study the RF patterns, any thoughts about antenna orientation?
