    Chocolate Espresso Stout

I am brewing this one up this weekend. Question: I just got my grains and I'm a newbie brewer. My grains largely look light in color. Will my wort come out black as stouts are supposed to be or did my LHBS give me the wrong type of 2-row?

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Just brewed this yesterday. Gravity into the fermenter was 1.060....not great not horrible i guess. Hoping to finish around 1.015 or so. Ended up with around 6-6.5 gallons after boil and filtering out hops and such. I split this into a bucket and carboy for fermentation using 2 packages...

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

I am brewing this one tomorrow! Did you make a starter and if so how big was it? I am making a 1.5L starter with Wyeast 1968 now, but according to internet sources (Mr. Malty) i need to do a 2 stage starter. In that case, i will just pick up another Wyeast pack to add to my 1st stage...

Kettle Options - Thermometer on Kettle?

I am purchasing a new 16 gallon Bayou kettle. Just wondering if its worth it to go for the temperature gauge installed on the kettle instead of just buying it with the ball valve alone. It's about a $20 difference but will just go for the ball valve only if they are not reliable for long or not...

    Bayou Classic 1064 OR Keggle

That a good idea with the Flea market. I live close to a really good one but never thought to look for kettles there. I will check it out this weekend. I'm aware thats its heavier but don't plan on lifting it when its filled so i don't think it should be too much of a problem.

    Bayou Classic 1064 OR Keggle

I'm looking to purchase a larger size kettle for brewing 10 gallons batches in the not too distant future so i have to purchase something now since i'm starting all-grain (my current kettle is only 6 gallons). My choice is: Bayou Classic 1064 (16 gallon - $160) or a 15.5 gallon Keggle ($100...
