Errrr ... I think I'll have to pass!

    Best mead recipe for beginner?

Ooooh, I didn't even think to look for a mead book -- thanks!

    Hello from Sunny (Ahem) Scotland!

Nice to "meet" you! We've been to Scotland twice, and just LOVE it! Haven't made it to Aberdeen yet, though :)

    Yet another Michigander

I didn't know they had breweries up there now! Whereabout?

    Yet another Michigander

We've been talking about going to MBC one of these days -- Webberville isn't far at all, and I'm sure my husband would like to check out the brewing supplies there, too. Maybe we can go for our anniversary next week ;)

I don't have a problem with guns (we have a couple pistols -- DH likes target shooting) ... I have a problem with Nugent having guns, LOL! Guy just seems like a whackjob to me. There's a local singer, Wally Pleasant, who has a lot of funny songs, and one of them is titled "The Day Ted Nugent...

Oh, egad, no! I work at a newspaper, and I once asked our entertainment writer if he'd ever interviewed Nugent. He said, "He's so manic that you're glad to see him with a guitar in his hands ... because it means he isn't holding a gun."

I had homebrewed rum... (F the ATF)

My husband was so sad to find out he couldn't (legally) distill his own whiskey ... he is a HUGE Scotch fan. (We've been to Scotland twice -- including our honeymoon -- and I feel like I've seen half the damn distilleries in the country. Also, our second kid was a souvenir of Whiskeyfest 2008 in...

    Tropical fish

We have a 25-gallon freshwater tank. Nothing fancy -- a pair of blue rams, an albino bristlenose pleco, some tetras (lemon and rummy-nose) and some harlequin rasboras.

    Yet another Michigander

Yeah ... I was a moody little piece of work in college! Now I generally listen to happier stuff ;)

    Crazy damned wives

Just as I suspected ... my husband was born to homebrew ;)

Are you implying that it takes two women to polish the average knob?
  14. Sanveann

    Omfg...........

Oh, I forgot to add ... I'm in newspapers. In Michigan. Could my employment prospects BE any crappier? (I'm actually only part time now, so I haven't been deemed worth laying off. For now.)
  15. Sanveann

    Omfg...........

I had the EXACT same thought! Guess we can tell who has small children on this forum ...

    Show us your SWMBO...

I'd better not let my husband see this thread ... he might remember that ****s have a function other than feeding babies. They get pawed at enough already!

    Crazy damned wives

Well, I'm Catholic, and I would be DELIGHTED if my husband added a wife. I'd be cool with sharing as long as she helped clean and take care of the kids :)

Noble, I -love- TC! I have very fond memories of a trip we took up there (pre-kid) that involved cherry blossoms and a LOT of trips to Old Mission wineries :)

My mom is the EXACT same way. A few years ago, she was talking about leaving Dad and going to live with my grandmother. She forgets that they can't stand to be in the same room for more than about 12 hours -- inconvenient, since Grandma lives halfway across the country!

Oh, wow. Out of curiosity, where is your wife's family from? (Wondering if there are cultural differences coming into play here.)
