How many on here own/operate a brewpub or microbrewery?

I would never! I will always promote the craft that is home brewing.

Secondary Fermentation from Fruit Going on 4+ Weeks

You should be fine to bottle. If you are confident on the 1.007 number and that it was stable there prior to the fruit addition. Fruit wont change the finishing gravity of your beer unless you introduce an infection with said fruit(may go lower) or you add so much fruit that the yeast reach...

Fellowship of the Home Brew XIII: Never Give up, Never Surrender!

Ignore the dirty glass, just look at this fantastic IPA! Perfectly balanced in my opinion and drinks like a single. Can barely tell it’s at 9%! Loving the label too, can’t wait to dig into the rest of these 😁

How many on here own/operate a brewpub or microbrewery?

100% agree with this. I've heard this repeated multiple times and all of the successful microbreweries I have toured have followed this plan as well(the few that were "brewer/owner operated"). There is one local micro that is husband and wife & ran as a "retirement hobby". The quality...

How many on here own/operate a brewpub or microbrewery?

I have all of those and read them through. Even have Mr. Henessys signature in the BOM. Got to meet him last November after attending his class. @Dgallo how far into researching are you? I’d love to talk more if you’re interested. It very well could be but I’ve always believed if you love...

How many on here own/operate a brewpub or microbrewery?

I guess I've never seen it in direct conversation here just more of a "I would never........" statement. I have seen it in person though among homebrew groups but maybe it could have been misread there as well. With proper planning doubt can be minimized right ;)

How many on here own/operate a brewpub or microbrewery?

I figured that most of them would be hiding which is why I asked the question ;) I don’t understand why it’s such a stigma to want to start up a brewery as a home brewer. I get that you’re turning a hobby into a job but if you love it enough why not? Haha

Apple Pie a la Mode Sour ale

You have to be real careful with this even if you keg. The yeast will still work on those sugars and if you go through the keg slowly you will end up with nothing but foam at the end as it continuosly carbonates. I may know a guy this happened to with a honey kolsch that someone thought needed...

Apple Pie a la Mode Sour ale

I tried making an Apple Pie Sour last fall and it failed, sadly. It was still drinkable but was just a slightly spiced sour. Apples are hard to extract flavor from using fruit so I would avoid that. I used my normal fruited sour as a guideline and went with 8 pounds of fresh Arkansas Blacks off...

    Brewery infection

I think your on the right track. What kind of tap is on the urn? Ive only ever disassembled the ball valve on my boil kettle twice. The first time it looked disgusting and full of crud. After that is always practiced operating the ball valve while rinsing to make sure nothing is being held by...

    What are you drinking now?

Homebrew NEIPA sampling after 2 months in the can! Must have avoided some oxygen, tastes as great as it did from day 1 in the keg, cleared up a bit but I don’t mind that ;)
