Hurricane Burner Source (NB Out of Stock)

Anyone have experience with the Mini Jet Burners (10 jet units). http://www.bbq.com/item_name_Multi-Jet-Natural-Gas-Burner-Mini_path_10500-9983-7112-7133_item_2516986.html Are they too small? I know everyone has had issues with the 23 or larger tip units and trying to get them "tamed" - with...

Hurricane Burner Source (NB Out of Stock)

Thanks kladue - one of the reasons I ask about the differences is I've read several "negative" reviews of he banjo burners - poor quality control mostly. Just want to make sure we get something that's worth the money.

Cutting top off a Sanke keg using angle grinder

Yeah I debated that - but figured the electric might be easier and I'd find other uses for it down the road. That one is like $7.99 after coupon right now though... so. So apparently the "Heavy Duty" model is the one that I have a coupon for $17.99 - so I'll probably go that route.

Hurricane Burner Source (NB Out of Stock)

Yeah this will be a family brewery (Dad, brother and I) but the primary location will be at my parents place. Our house just doesn't have an idea brewing location besides the driveway and have no easy way to get NG to it. However, their patio is right off their kitchen and a SHORT easy NG run...

Hurricane Burner Source (NB Out of Stock)

I hate being impatient! We found a welder for out 1-tier stand and want to finalize the design but I don't want to do that until we have the burners in hand so we know how we are mounting them is correct (4 or 5 standoffs, width, etc). Thanks for the heads up though. I'm not seeing any stand...

Hurricane Burner Source (NB Out of Stock)

So with the Hurricane Burners pretty much out of stock everywhere - what recommendations to folks have for equivalent burners at a decent price? How do the Banjo's compare? Are they much different? Would like to find a burner where we can swap out the valve (like the hurricanes) to move...

Cutting top off a Sanke keg using angle grinder

Has anyone had any problems with the cheap angle grinders from Harbor Freight. I don't have a regular need for an angle grinder but will be needing one to cut the top off our Sankes and polishing them up with GatorGrit pads. This one is under $20 right now at HF - anyone had luck with it? or...

    My Home Bar

I ordered my Rhizomes through Mountain Home Brew - they're guide explained some of the varieties that do well or at least "ok" in our area. I was looking for my instructions but they must be in my brewing binder which I don't have with me. I picked varieties that said they did OK in moist...

I've come into possession of a KEG!

Although others might disagree - I'd recommend releasing the pressure always - its just a safety thing. I don't like running the risk of any injuries or damages with containers of any kind under pressure. It takes almost no time to release pressure - I can do it by hand with the kegs I picked up...

New Forum Section Proposal - Deal Finder

I've been sifting through the site on a regular basis trying to keep tabs on any deals or discounts for brewing equipment. I'm actually kind of surprised there isn't a section on the site (besides the vendor showcase and classifieds) that caters to home brewers helping each other out and sharing...

    My Home Bar

Thanks guys. jmansfield - it gets mostly an East, South/East exposure - so sees the sun most of the day in the summer. Being in the Seattle area I choose varieties that do well with moisture - in the summer it's not what everyone claims (yes it rains here but not every darn day) - this summer...

    My Home Bar

Thanks for the compliments guys. If you haven't, you should watch the Seattle Craigslist listings - I've seen them from time to time. I lucked out and scored the whole set, bar and both neons for around 600. The bar alone new is well over $1,500 and it was in great shape and the neons were...

    My Home Bar

Our Realtor/Friend thought I was crazy when I kept telling her I was hoping to find a house with a spare room or a decent location to build a home bar. I don't think she thought I was serious, but my SWMBO knew I wasn't joking around about the idea. We bought our house about 2 years ago and one...

Help Me Understand the Process (2 burner setup BK & HLT, MLT insulated no burner)

So one of the main reasons we keep considering the keggle (or a pot of some kind) is the limits of a 10 gal. cooler with grain - we're pretty much stuck doing 5 gal batches

Keg Bottom Dented - No good for Keggle?

Eh not sure I have to worry about my neighbors, they vac their cars out at midnight in the rain... don't ask (I've yet to figure them out!). But good advice none the less:)

Keg Bottom Dented - No good for Keggle?

OK cool - we'll give it a shot. We're working on our brewery design and intend to build a single tier with tipping keggle mounts much like a few folks have built on here (Nick and crew from Black Heart Brewery and Bobby M). In which case - as long as we can straighten it out well enough to be...

Keg Bottom Dented - No good for Keggle?

Picked up 2 kegs today - one is in great shape and will be an easy conversion to a keggle however the other is a bit more beat up; the biggest concern I have is that the bottom of the keg is dented pretty bad (the lips not the actual concave inner piece) so it doesn't sit very flat. Being that...
