    Automated HERMS system

    Automated HERMS system

As you will see, Brass, Stainless and Copper are common in home brew setups. However in reading your post I think you mix copper and brass up bit. Yes many use Brass fittings because they are much cheaper, however (and it sounds like you've maybe already done some reading on it) Brass does...

Brewery Build - Single Tier HERMS

Pumps ordered and shipped, expecting them next Friday. Burners arrived today from Northern Brewer but one is defective so will be going back. Good thing we're still early in our build!

Plastic bags for lining inside homer buckets (Bulk Grain Storage)

What's the best bag to use to line the homer buckets when using them to store bulk grains? Most garbage bags I've read are not for use with food. I've seen several photos of folks using the homer buckets lined with plastic bags and just curious what everyone is using. Still deciding on our...

Random - Fake Hop Vine Decorations

If you're still looking - I did find these - not really a vine necessarily - but not sure what you were using it for. http://www.save-on-crafts.com/hops.html

Random - Fake Hop Vine Decorations

Looking for some fake silk or plastic hop vines/cones decorations. Not sure if this type of thing exists anywhere but thought it'd be a great add to our home bar. Anyone seen such a thing before?

    March 809 PL-HS-C - 115V (eBay for $108.99 w/free SHI)

If anyone is looking for inline models - they're posted as well (just visit the USAPUMPS store/other items). $110 free SHI. $5 more than the last time they had them but still $30-50 cheaper than most shops or retailers. Just ordered 2 for our build.

    March 809 PL-HS-C - 115V (eBay for $108.99 w/free SHI)

Good note - however depending on the application, a plug might not be needed. We're holding out for in-lines because of our frame design and how we planned to mount them. If you're wiring it into a system driven by a control panel, you might not need a plug and can use the leads that way...

    March 809 PL-HS-C - 115V (eBay for $108.99 w/free SHI)

For those in the market for a center inlet march pump, USA Pumps just got a few more in. Figured I'd pass the word on (I'm in no way affiliated with them, just been watching for inline models and saw these)...

Where about in NW Indiana? Lived (for a very brief VERY brief) time in Granger.

    March 809 purchase options

    C is for center inlet.

    March 809 purchase options

The most common brewing march pump is the 809 HS PL - most homebrew retailers will sell you this model. In some cases you'll see the bronze but most brewers prefer to avoid metals like that coming in contact with the wort. The plastic does have the risk of damage, cracking, etc - but the...

So, who here loves to fly fish?

One of several hobbies I have. Love getting out, unfortunately don't get out as much as I'd hope though. Surprised there aren't more folks from the Pacific Northwest replying and chiming in that they fly fish. Only got out a handful of times this last summer - my dad and I have started a...

March Pump Deals? Anyone seen decent prices lately?

So far this is what I'm seeing: http://cgi.ebay.com/March-pump-809-PL-HS-115v-home-brewing-pump_W0QQitemZ360210092057QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item53de31d019 $116.99 + 12 SHI but doesn't have the mounting bracket. Brewmasters Warehouse has the 12% off for Cyber Monday but the...

March Pump Deals? Anyone seen decent prices lately?

Anyone seen any decent prices on March Pumps (809 HS PL) since the $105 w/ free SHI deal on eBay a while back? I've not seen much better than $130 (without the mounting bracket).

    Another Brutus in the making

We're planning on using Push Button for both our MLT and BK due to the fact that we'll be attending the brewery the entire brew session - enjoying good beer convo, home brew and on game days likely a game on the TV from the garage. Although - I'll admit - I've not seen many true push button...

    Copper Tubing

Ask local plumbers or contractors - I've heard some folks have luck with that. Or go to Lowes/Home Depot; from what I've seen (several posts like this have popped up over time) - there are some online sources but after shipping they end up being more or about the same price as just going to the...

    Exterior Keg Cleaning

Soak that end of the keg in warm water and your favorite brewing equipment cleaner. Then take a sharp razor blade and slowly, and patiently scrape away the label. Then follow the whole process up with some Bar Keepers Friend, a scotch brite sponge and some elbow grease.

Brewery Build - Single Tier HERMS

Added the 3D model sketch - as noted in my edit of the first post, I'll post the Google Sketchup files at a later date as well. Burners were ordered before Thanksgiving so should show up in the coming days - which is one of the last pieces we need before sending everything off to our welder...
