    Honey Malt

That sounds like a great beer... I am a huge hop head myself, but want to brew a wheat beer with some character. 8oz should be plenty for what I am looking for? I am using Citra hops as well...

    Brewing an IPA

It doesnt have to be in the boil for at least 15 min to sanitize?

    Honey Malt

I guess I am not going to fermentables, mainly flavor and smoothness of the beer. Steeping should do the trick with what I am expecting from this malt?

    Honey Malt

Hey everyone, I am a semi experienced brewer but have not done an all grain batch yet since I am limited on equipment and space. I am thinking of doing an easy extract/specialty grain wheat beer using liberty and citra hops. I was thinking of using Honey Malt for added sweetness and flavor...

    Brewing an IPA

I used hopville when writing out the recipe... in the past it seems to have worked pretty well. The idea of adding the .25 oz of cascade/centennial sounds like a pretty good idea. I do like bitter IPA's, but i dont want my palette to taste all bitterness.

    Victory Malt

    Victory Malt

In essence, what i may be brewing may be a slightly hoppy american pale ale?

    Victory Malt

I really dont brew to BJCP guidelines, but i do use the guidelines as such; as a guide to different types of beers. How much victory would be too much. I am just looking for a unique flavor to an IPA. Is 8% too much to use? Never used the malt before.

    Victory Malt

Planning on brewing a partial mash IPA with Nugget and Centennial hops. Has anyone used victory malt in an IPA? I am using about 8% of my grist/extract bill. somewhat of an experimental IPA. What about Nugget hops, any comments on those? Mainly using nugget for bittering 60min/45min and...

    Brewing first Stout

Yeh that is what i thought. Even when I do partial mashes i still only boil 3 gal. According to the recipe, the hop additions are 6AA kent goldings for 60 min so i know that wouldnt matter with the final product from the bottle.

    Brewing first Stout

Hey everyone, I am looking forward to brew my first stout. The recipe is coming from the BYO magazine for last month. I do not have the equipment for all grain, so i am choosing to do the extract with specialty grains. The recipe calls to preform a full boil, which I cannot do. Is there a...

    Brewing a ryePA

Well I mashed the grains at 154 for 45 minutes and used 1 gal of 170 degree water to sparge. The sparge didn't go so well. The sparge water was nearly clogged in the grain bag is this because the rice hulls were not used. Would I have better sparge if I happen to use them?

    Brewing a ryePA

I plan on using about 1 gallon of water at 170 degrees to sparge..I am somewhat new to partial mashing, how much rice hulls would someone use?

    Brewing a ryePA

I am using one lb flaked rye and one lb rye malt as well as some other base malts and specialty grains. Doing a partial mash, rice hulls just help the sugars from the rye filter into the wort?
