    West Virginia FS: Grainfather Connect

May I ask why are you selling and simply not sending it back? In Europe you can buy a product and return it within 30 days. Can't you simply do the same?

    Wlp644

I have 5 fermenters, so this would not be an issue, as I can make one of those to be the Brett/experiments fermenter. The rest of the equipment, like auto-siphon can be easily cleaned or I can simply new for the " brett " beers. But I will take the advice and ferment the first beer only using...

    Wlp644

Thank you all for the replies. In the meantime, I have contacted White Labs and they answered " With the WLP644 being a sacc strain, we ship it with an average of 2.5 billion cells per ML " . Their packages come with 40-50 ML I think, so if fresh, that's around 100 billion cells. I also have...

    Wlp644

Hello. I am having a hard time finding out the cell count on WLP644: http://www.whitelabs.com/yeast-bank/wlp644-saccharomyces-bruxellensis-trois All the reviews and replies found on different forums are too old and could not find one from 2017. Does WLP644 only come with 3 billion cells for...

Looking for some experiance with Denali hops

I have an American IPA I will keg this weekend, where I dry hopped with Denali, Azacca, Motueka and Riwaka. Around 10 oz ( 300 gr ) hops were used for dry hopping, so I will post any results regarding flavour, aroma and taste. Hopefully, you will get an idea how they pair with similar hops as...

    NE Double IPA

Do you have pictures of your hazy NEIPA, made with US-05? 'Cause I doubt you got any haziness, without oats, wheat and a proper yeast for the style. S-04 is definitely one of my favourites, but it cleans out very nicely, without any finnings and it will not yield a NEIPA style. There is...

    IPA v DIPA v TIPA

The Best TIPA I have had is https://www.ratebeer.com/beer/troubadour-magma/119255/ . They make a few, but excellent beers. Very malty, subtle Belgian yeast tones and mild to medium hops. Easy going. But as stated above, the lines get blurry with al these IPA styles. But I like malty beer, I...

    Ss Brewtech 1bbl nano brewhouse

It's under the Nano Brewing category, so I do not believe it will be appealing to many home brewers. The price will be over 10k US dollars, which is a lot. In Europe we have PBC Installations: http://pbcbreweryinstallations.com/breweries.html They sell a 2.5 BBL brewery with 2 fermenters...

Putting together an electric home brewing system

cegan09 and doug293cz : very insightful replies and I thank you both. The shop I am trying to buy from has these: https://www.brewbuilder.co.uk/hlt-temperature-control.html - from what I gather, it can cotnrol a 3500 W element, whcih should suffice my needs. The Boil kettle element can simply...

Help me with MASH efficiency, please!

You did a 21 L batch ( that's the final wort qty that goes in the fermenter ) using 21 L of strike water and 16.5 L of sparge water, which for me is a lot. For 21 L final I use 6 Kgs of grains and around 31 L of water ( strike + sparge ) to get an OG of 1.060, depending on the efficiency. For...

Putting together an electric home brewing system

Thank you, doug293cz. I presume I need a control panel for 2 elements. How much would such one cost? Can I order it from US or would it be able to order it from Europe as well? Any links you can provide, I would be very grateful. PS: I know http://www.ebrewsupply.com/ have them, but...

Putting together an electric home brewing system

I am reviving this thread. I have looked on the https://www.brewbuilder.co.uk/index.php? website and I think I want the following: 1 x Mash tun: https://www.brewbuilder.co.uk/high-end-mash-tuns.html - 50 L The mash tun needs a false bottom to size...

    Belgian Wit Recipe

I would not add cumin, but I would keep a bit of coriander and orange/lemon peel and freshly squeezed zest. My latest witbier has 55% flaked wheat, 22% Belgian Pale Ale malt, 11% Vienna and 11% naked oat malt.

    Finally nailed the elusive hefeweizen

Hi there. Glad to hear you nailed the hefe style. All my recipes are brewed using Dingemans, THE SWAEN and Weyermann grains, which are top notch. If I make a hefeweizen, I go for all Weyermann and I mash high and longer. The boil will also be longer, especially for weizenbock and higher alcohol...

Doing a big milk stout. Advice on addition amounts?

No experience with nutmeg and cinnamon, but probably not more than 3-5 days, as they are very aromatic in small quantities, especially the cinnamon. I will however recommend getting Ceylon cinnamon sticks and not the common Cassia cinnamon, which is astringent, powdery, unpleasent. Ceylon...

    Double IPA advice/critique

If you would like to go for a NEIPA, you need to cut the Crystal malt in half, maybe less and add flaked oats. Like 10-15%. The yeast should be something like Wyeast 1318 London Ale III or something Conan. The IBUs should be dropped down to say 30-40. Theose 40gr of Bravo move to 30 minutes...

    Double IPA advice/critique

The grain bill looks much better, much cleaner. The Crystal addition is just in the right amount. The White wheat will give nice retention to the beer. The hop schedule seems a bit intricate, but if you are up for it, do it. Move the Mosaic to dry hopping. If you have more Mosaic hops, move it...

My NE IPA look like crap!

Hi there. My friend attempted a NEIPA some months ago and his was also like a pea soup. Harsh and bitter, with no real flavour to it. He bottled it and 3-4 weeks after, the beer was tasty and drinkable. Not quite a NEIPA, but enjoyable.
