    Random Picture Thread

You know, I really should make a tap handle from my Mustang shifter. I wonder if I still have it? By the time I get that old thing back on the road, I can replace it with something better than the 3-speed shifter knob it came with.

    Cats

It's possible. We have hawks around. And Coyotes (Our local school mascot is the Coyote, pronounced "Kigh-Yote", not Kigh-YoTEE.) And neighborhood dogs.

    Quantity vs quality

So get this; I am talking with a brewer at a nearby brewery who just happened to be a short-term member of our brewclub (He had to leave the club for official purposes by accepting the brewer position). We were talking about the quality of the beer there and I mentioned how I tasted more than 1...

What did I cook this weekend.....

I saw some fresh chicken in the fridge and thought, "I should make Champagne Chicken!" Then I look over at the counter and see a package of Shallots. She's way ahead of me! So the big question now is, do I cook Champagne Chicken tonight? Or brew a batch of Beer? Champagne chicken takes up...

    Cats

Yep, close the door, sit down, and BAM one of the cats is scratching at the door. Let it in and it will go in and eat (Their food is in there) or rub up against my legs, or just sit there looking around as if they can't remember why they had to be in there.

    Killing "birds" off topic, automotive

I concur. When the roads are very packed and busy, you have to do what you can. I still tend to leave a bit of space, but I'm usually closer than I am comfortable with when on busy city highways. I was not happy driving around DC while pulling a '67 Cougar behind my FIL's truck on a trailer...

    GOOD on Netflix STREAMING?

2 episodes left of Stranger Things Season 1. It's getting pretty good. I love the way they portray the era. Only a couple of phrases that were too modern to be from the 80's, but better than most shows that attempt to portray an era. Some of the music was not quite accurate to the year in...

    Cats

Our cats would prefer to come in and out every several hours, but once we hit the bed, they stay outside if they are outside (if they are inside and want out, then we let them out as they make a ruckus until they get are let out...) I found the injured cat hiding again. She's been acting pretty...

    Killing "birds" off topic, automotive

I understand that historically manuals always got better mileage than automatics, but recent testing has proven that SOME automatics deliver better economy than the manual offered in the same car. Of course the driver can affect this greatly, but this is the case between ANY car. I'd have to...

    Cats

That's not going to be an option. Both her and her sister enjoy the outdoors during the night and inside during the day during summer, and inside during the night and outside during day in winter. Besides, it's their duty to keep the area clear of rodents.

    Cats

One of our cats came home with some nasty wounds on her back. Wasn't sure if she got caught in some barbed wire or got grabbed by a larger animal, but I wiped it down a bit and kept an eye on her. 2-3 weeks later and she is still wounded (or found that same trouble again, she is like that...)...

What book is on your nightstand? Readers!

Started Good Omens by Pratchett and Gaimen. I swore I read this already, but once I loaded it up and started reading, it's not ringing a bell, so I guess this is the first time. Bad part is, I started reading it to my daughter, and now I feel obligated to not get ahead without including her.

I don't see what you guys have against automatics. The vast majority of drivers won't make use of the advantages a manual transmission has over an automatic. In these modern days, an automatic shifts faster, and smoother and gets better mileage than a manual. The only time I'd prefer a manual...

    Big Mouth Bubbler

I haven't had an issue with my 5 gallon plastic BMB. The lid is a bit loose, even if I crank it down tight. I only use it as a primary for smaller batches. My main fermentor is a Chapman SS bucket. The BMB is ok for what it is, but I eventually decided to invest in a more sturdy and easier...

    Not-So-Obnoxious Baseball Thread

Congrats to JV who finally got the Ring he deserved. And news from Detroit today is the announcement of the new coaching staff! I think this is supposed to make people interested in the Tigers through winter.
