Total noob ? Dry vs Sparkling

Ok that actually helps. I've only ever seen the sparkling and not the still version. So the dry is the sweetness and the sparkling is carbonated. It's amazing that one little word makes all the sense. I hate being a noob sometimes, yeah I know "we've all been there... well most of us" :)...

Total noob ? Dry vs Sparkling

Ok I tried finding this quickly (yeah I know could probably find it if I did more research but I'm about to leave for work and this has been bugging me all morning) on the web but was unlucky. What is the difference between dry and sparkling cider? From what I could find it seems sparkling is...

What do YOU drink your homebrew from???

Winner. :rockin: I have about 234279879 pint glasses that are from various microbreweries that are mostly used. I also have a couple of wheat glasses and some .4 liter mugs with room for head.

    Screw on bottle caps

I've read about people using regular pop top caps on screw top bottles but I've never done it. I personally don't keep any screw top bottles, I'd say either try it and be prepared for some that don't seal properly or check with a local bar and see if you can get pop top bottles and just use...

    Sediment in bottles

Local brewery here, Bristol's, has a honey wheat that has sediment and it says to pour all but about 1/4 of the bottle, swirl then finish. Wonderful beer, but I didn't care for the sediment in my first brew. I just pour and as said sacrifice the 1/4 inch or so to the beer gods.

    Hofbrauhaus Vegas

Has anyone been to the Hofbrauhaus in Las Vegas? SWMBO and I are going to Vegas this summer and I want to go. Is it worth it? Looks like a great place. Anywho thanks for the time.

    what reading do you see?

I did top up. I'm thinking Bird has it right. I shook the carboy to aerate the wort but probably didn't do a good enough job. I'll also try to do a better job of taking my picture next time. It's the n00bness in me.

    what reading do you see?

That might be it. I gave it some swirls but maybe not enough.

    what reading do you see?

That's what I came up with too about 1.070 ish. I spun that thing a few times I got the same reading with the flask full as well as a bit poured out (when I took the picture). Should I be concerned about such a high OG when I expected it to be around 1.040? Did I do something wrong? No...

    what reading do you see?

What do you guys see as a hydrometer reading here? This is from my William's watermelon ale kit. The website and catalog state a 1.040 OG, however the instructions don't mention it. The temp was about 70-72 at the time of this reading. Pics are huge so I just put links in...

Please Allow Me To Reiterate How Much I Despise FedEx

I just got a delivery from Fedex. Right day, early no complaints really 'cept one. I was home and guy just threw the box (or dropped it from a moderate height) on the porch and left. No knock no ring of the bell nothing. That always annoys the crap out of me. Maybe just maybe someone is...
