Help keeping beer "warm" during fermentation

I'm new but what I did was got a box and my son has a lizard and had an extra reptile tank heater so just plugged that into dimmer switch and got 8 extra deg into the box. It worked well.

first brew pretty sweet and malty

Well for my first brew it's tasty and I like it so there in my fridge now. I was more worried about taste seeing it came out malty at first.

The control was room temp but I'm sure I can muster another test if needed..

Gentleman very interesting results. So I wanted real results so I did 3 mugs. All bottles came out of the same fridge. 1 control: mug right out of cabinet- good taste, very low head, 5 count retention. 2 mug in same fridge scrubbed: good head, 20 count retention, very tasty. 3 mug in freezers...

I have 2 mugs scrubbed so I will put one in the freezer and one in the fridge. Let's see what happens. Either way I hope one works so I can rule out my beer.

That's what mine are doing foam so so the goes away in a 5 count. I have 2 mugs soaking right now. Do you think freezer would help?

I brought the bottles back in room temp for 2 weeks and it has everything I like. I will try the salt scrub being the easiest and see what that does.

So I did some research and so basically if you do a partial boil your never going get good head retention?

    Heater core

Ha ha I bet that works awesome. Cools, mixes and aerates. Put a burner under it and no stop brewing. Oh well I just will have to get off my wallet and go to home depot. Oh the geese are not back yet!

    Heater core

Thought I would ask just for the fact it's a mini radiator. I have a thick plate chiller now can just put two SS elbows on it and drop it right in like wort chiller right?

    Heater core

Ok that would explain why no one is using them.

    Heater core

So I'm thinking about going to junk yard and picking up a heater core for 10 bucks. I bet they make great wort chillers?

Holy sh$t my beer turned out really good..I threw 4 in the fridge a few days ago and I'm sad to say all 4 went to a better place. I'm hooked I'm brewing a Boston lager this weekend.. The only issue is a smaller head than I hoped for. Nice pop when opening the bottle just smaller head.

    bottle day stir

Thats what I did on my first batch after getting the internet opinion. I racked into the bottling bucket and placed the tube so it made a whirlpool (on the bottom) and put half in at begining and half in at half full. But then I also read its very important to leave the racking cane in the...

Landlord issues.... Short Sale on apt.

Well I'm sure she doesn't want a full foreclosure on her credit for 10 years and she has to pay int at tax time. If they offer to keep your lease that's the time to tell them you were in talks to lower the rent ;) Don't be so quick to grab the keys for cash if they give you a good rent policy...

Landlord issues.... Short Sale on apt.

Hey, do you happen to know who the mortgage is through? Short Sales only last a couple of months then the F/C takes back over and in some large banks the F/C continues while the short sale is going on. See if you can find any public notices on it. I know some of the large banks once they...
