    Brew shops in Indiana

From talking to the homebrew guys at Butler it seems like they are the red headed stepchildren of the company. I told them they really needed a better online presence and the guy said they didn't even have a sign advertising the homebrew supplies. It does seem a little small and cramped, but...

    2 batches at once

Any suggestions for what kind of primary I should go for? I am kind of considering just getting the Deluxe brewing kit from http://www.butlerwinery.com/homebrew.html Any thoughts on that stuff?

    2 batches at once

I am brand new to brewing and only have a Coopers kit so far. I am wanting to be able to have two brews working at once. I am wondering what would be the best way to go about this. Would it be better to get a secondary and transfer to that and start a new batch or just get a second fermenter...

They do have better bottles, I went in today to grab some StarSan and more yeast. So their equipment isn't that good?

Never would have thought about going to the winery for beer advice, didn't think they sold anything there. Has anybody used them?

I know right? It sure seems like a place that would have at least a small homebrew shop.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. Tuxedo sounds a bit better since I am brand new so I would probably get lost in Great Fermentations. I'll definitely have to check them out next time I'm up in Indy.

    Brew shops in Indiana

Hey there everybody, I am new to brewing and just started my first kit brew. I was wondering if anybody knew of a decent homebrew shop in south-central Indiana. I am in Bloomington and haven't found anything in the area. Was wondering if anybody knew of any that were worth driving to or if...

    Buildup on fermenter bottom

Awesome, thanks a lot for the replies. I started to worry because I did a lot of dumb stuff when I was making this batch but I saw the sticky about how hard it is to mess up. The directions that come with it say 4-6 days in the fermenter. What is the benefit of going longer? And yea, really...

    Buildup on fermenter bottom

Running my first batch ever using a Coopers kit and I have a question. I have about an inch thick layer of stuff built up on the bottom of my fermenter at about 12 hours in at this point. Here's a picture of what I am talking about...

    time in primary

I am on my first run with the Coopers kit and it says you are good to bottle in 4-6 days depending on temperature. Why do they go so low on their kits?
