What are you listening to (music!!!) right now? Embarrassing or not... share

Housebound Ska Collective - Africa (Toto) OK, so it won't post directly... but watch it. Bunch of ska musicians have been connecting over the covid shutdown (and still doing so as things are opening up|) and doing covers of various songs. Rage Against the Machine's Killing in the Name of...

New here, I primarily brew Saisons, down in Miami, FL, and have a few questions

I made a saison early this summer. it was Pilsner, vienna and rye malt, plus table sugar. OG 1.053, FG 1.003, it had no lack of mouthfeel. WEish I could say what was going on with OPs brew, but IMO caramel malts aren;t the way to go to stay within style. |Oats may help out some. I'm also not as...

    Hops unknown

For testing a hop, yeah, making a tea will give you an idea, but to see how it works in a beer, I would do a fairly light SMASH. Maybe a small batch, one or 2 gallons. Just pale malt, maybe in the 1.045 ish SG. hop to taste - maybe somewhere between a pale ale and an IPA. |Neutral yeast, or one...

    From So-Cal

Can't argue with that - Pilsner malt, maybe some plain ol' white sugar, and the Belgian yeast. Better still, those like to be fermented warm to get that Belgian thing - so you don't have to worry about temp control.

    From So-Cal

A worthy goal. May I warn you, though, against trying that style immediately? Start with a few simple recipes or ingredient kits, to make sure you have the processes down right. Something like a pale ale or such, that doesn't need extraordinary or extended times, lagering, and such. If you...

    Ugh...forgot to aerate

You'd probably even be OK if you didn't at all - but it probably would be best if you go for it. As long as the yeast han't started active ferementation yet, you'll be fine.

    Welcome Beginning Brewers!

Just to be accurate - it's actually very difficult to truly ruin a batch, unless you're using filthy equipment, no cleaning / sanitation, and so on. Most often it's not exactly what was intended. Your adding hops a bit to early is very low on the scale of things to affect the outcome. Something...

3 dead induction cookers. Now what?

One more avantco fan here. I’ve had mine about 5 years with no issues. I’ll run mine at full to get strike water to temp and wort to boil, but it spends most of the time at about 1/2 power for the boil itself. nevera problem with it, I’ll wipe it down during cleanup and make sure the vent is...
