    Yeasty Taste

    Yooper - I used a whole packet (5 grams) for a 5 gallon batch. I have since placed the bottles in the freezer for a couple of hours and then moved them to the refrigerator. Time will tell.

    Bottled a batch of vanilla cream soda last Sunday. Carbonated up quickly and tasted the first bottle on Friday. The soda had a real yeasty taste to it. Anyone know why and if this can be remedied by aging? Thinking maybe yeast is still suspended in soda and maybe needs to settle out more. I...

    Got my dedicated 5 gallon Better Bottle today (thank you FedEx) and picked up my juice. Now it is time for my inaugural batch.

    Coffee steeping

    +1 on the cold steep. Ground bean placed in 2 quarts of water and let it sit in the fridge for 24 hours (or overnight). Then filtered and added to secondary. Amount of bean with vary with desired taste/strength. Prost!

    Label Removal Thread

    Oxiclean, warm water and a 2 hours soak. May need to use a Scotch-Brite pad for some stubborn glue but will come right off with very litle effort. Most labels slip right off.
