For those that are wondering where their rhizomes are: I got notification they were shipped last week. Hopefully they will arrive at my place soon, and I can pass them on to all of you ASAP. Daylight's wasting, let's get 'em in the dirt!

Nope that was totally not me. That sounds like a cool project, though. I've got a feeler out that emails me with homebrewing-related stuff on Rakuten... there are a LOT of old wine barrels on there, if anyone is interested.

FastForward, Sorry I haven't gotten you the shipping slip for you to ship to me. There's a good blog article about growing a hop garden here. Check it out! Edit: Another good article for those that will be growing in containers, from BYO.

I just got an update from AIH about the hops! I'm going to start getting stuff ready for the "risky" order. Anyone that wants in, please let me know ASAP. Anything on AIH's page is up for ordering. As stated before, no guarantees that it will get through customs. Once we get the orders in, I...

Brendan, yeah we did make the order to homebrewing.org. They should be shipping out within a month or so. BF, you're more than welcome to join in on our "risky" order, as I haven't made that purchase yet. Maybe that should be my project for next week..

What malts are you looking at? I'd love to get my hands on some of their Special W... (It's basically exactly like Special B) Edit: not a full bag! If anybody wants to split it, let me know!

You guys! I went to my nearest Shimachu Homes yesterday and found these awesome glass bottles... After looking even closer, they are nearly perfect for homebrewing, so I have to share it with y'all's. They're 5L (1 gallon + headspace!), perfectly sized for experimentation. The rubbery lid...

    Pump sizes?

Finally got the STC-1000s in (from Hong Kong), so I wired up the controllers for the chamber last night. Check out my awesome cardboard box! First, I cut out the holes I would need for 3 controllers, 6 plugs, and an input wire. The input was first, and by far least pretty. I wired the plugs up...

I was in a Ramen shop the other day, and I noticed their giant jet burners that are already set in a table. They look like they would be perfect for brewing beer. Has anyone tried using them? If only nanobrewing was legal in Japan... EDIT: One of these. They're basically burners set in a table...

Yeah I got the automated email, but the stuff never arrived. I've sent emails to two addresses I had for them (order@ and [email protected]), both were returned undelivered. If they're still in business, I'll just order the StarSan from them, but I'm pretty skeptical.

I will buy a full 32oz if you can get it. It seems to be very stable while undiluted, so I want as much as I can get my grubby mitts on (so as to make them less grubby, of course).

Check the very first post in this thread- most people use brewland or advanced brewing. Homebrew service may be dead now, we'll see. RE: Star-San, I'm currently working on ways to get my hands on some. I originally asked a friend to smuggle it in, but he was rather less than excited about...

Really? Where? I've been really hating the extra rinsing that bleach requires, and would be overjoyed to buy some if any of the retailers actually sold it. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew

Good News Everyone! I finally got an answer from the grower. The certificate is slightly more expensive than we were originally told, but it definitely covers the entire order. As such, we are ready to move ahead with the order, so I will be sending out requests to everyone that ordered...

He's in Machida-shi, which is just SW of downtown Tokyo, and still technically Tokyo (but not really :P) I just ordered 4kg of candi sugar from hopandgrape.uk, because my last experience with them was so smooth... but the shipping was killer this time. It ended up at around 7000 yen. :drunk...

Glad to have you, Steve! Where do you get your cornies? All the ones I've seen in Japan have been over 10,000 JPY, with the exception of the one I bought from Guzzibrew on here. I heard a rumor that you could buy them on Yahoo Auctions, but all I can find are Asahi/Kirin/Sapporo kegs.
