    skeeter pee

So has anyone kegged yet? I'm interested in what the fizzy version tastes like? How much extra sugar do you need (to compensate for the carbonation)? I've got a sour cherry cider/wine fermenting and plan to use the slurry for this project.

My Stirplate... Cheap and Easy Build...

Most DC motors are not polarized, reversing the polarity (positive and negative) just changes the direction of the motors spin. For your purposes it's irrelevant.

My Stirplate... Cheap and Easy Build...

Your fan looks like a OEM and could be anything but likely will follow the diagram you found. You should get full speed by putting 12v across pins/wires 1 and 2. You may have to short 4 and 2 but usually it's open for full speed. Good luck.

My Stirplate... Cheap and Easy Build...

Surface area is the name of the game in aeration. You want a nice deep vortex that has rippling on as much of it's surface as possible. play with water first, but keep in mind that the mini-wort will be much denser so you will have to adjust some.

My Stirplate... Cheap and Easy Build...

That is correct. Here is a great FAQ http://www.kjmagnetics.com/faq.asp This is also where I ordered my magnets, I've used them for everything from suspending tea strainers in my cornie kegs to making my stir plate. No idea if they are the best price but I liked the FAQ and that I could...

    Adding Orange Peel to Fermenter

Well speaking as a chef, the zest has all of the orange flavor, the pith (white part under the zest) has the bitter flavor. The trick to removing zest is to be careful to capture the oils if using a zester or small pieces or peel the pith off and use large strips. imho I would use hops for...

    Adding Orange Peel to Fermenter

So I screwed up my Belgian recipe as well, (forgot to add the orange peel in the boil) SO I thought, no prob, just drop it in the fermentation. It's now 5 weeks later and my Belgian Strong is sitting at 1.042 and producing very little CO2. Also very cloudy. I'm not sure if the haze/cloudy...
