    Sky rocket!

What size is your fermentation bucket? The reason I ask is because I am about to brew the same kit this weekend in a 6 gallon glass carboy. I've read other threads where folks say this kit foams a lot and got the 6 gallon to hopefully allow enough space so that I can just use a typical airlock.

Thanks. I can post all the info when I get home from work tonight. You are right, that it came with just a single packet.

First beer advice - True Brew Belgian Ale

Thanks for the response. After reading it, I did something that I should have done before posting and searched for the yeast that came with my kit. It looks like the ideal range is between the mid-50s and 70s. (I have T-58) So, I think I will go ahead and hook the temp controller up to my...

    First Mead help

Thanks for all of the information. I actually decided to jump into mead first because it seemed like an easy way to get started before I jumped into beer. After reading your advice I think I may put together 1 gallon of traditional mead and 1 gal of the JAOM. However, I may also dive into beer...

    First Mead help

I am new to homebrewing and want to start out with 1 gallon batches of mead. All of the different recipes out there are a little overwhelming, so I want to make sure I get everything right when I do this. I'm aiming for a sweet tasting mead with a good abv (10% or so, just for a ballpark...
