70 quart Coleman Extreme Mash Tun w/ CPVC Manifold

Yeah I used the cpvc 1/2 npt to slip fitting > 45 street > the t slips right on the street end of that. it rested perfectly in the bottom. I couldn't have asked for a better fit. I think it looks cleaner than a whole bunch of slits too, but we'll see how it functions. I'm going to do a batch...

70 quart Coleman Extreme Mash Tun w/ CPVC Manifold

I squeezed the sides of the cpvc together and coudn't get it to touch so i think it should hold up ok. if it doesn't I'll cut a couple new pieces and do the short slits. Thats the beauty of cpvc I'm only out like 50 cents if it doesn't work.

70 quart Coleman Extreme Mash Tun w/ CPVC Manifold

I opted to cut long slots down the center of my manifold. Here's a couple shots of it. Haven't tried it out yet but it was way faster to do it this way. I t seems like it would allow more liquid to flow too. Thoughts?

70 quart Coleman Extreme Mash Tun w/ CPVC Manifold

Yeah i thought about that. I'm going to give it a shot this weekend and see how it builds out. I could even use a grinder and decrease width of cut and shorten the lengths of the cut. ill let everyone know if it goes well. Thanks for the comments.

70 quart Coleman Extreme Mash Tun w/ CPVC Manifold

Any reason I shouldn't make one long cut down the center of all the pipe? Seems like I could just pass it through the table saw and save a bunch of time. Thoughts?

    Orbital table DIY build

We've got one at work for testing milk fat content and its loud. I'd say it runs at about 1000 rpm though. I doubt you would need that type of agitation. I'll see if I can get a photo of it for you.

Re surfacing a cast iron skillet

My grandma used to just build a big fire and throw the pan in it. It will come out looking brand new. My brother melted a candle in a cast iron skillet one time and this method took the candle flavor out of it. After its done, cover it wih crisco and bake at 350 for a couple hours to reseason.

    The Pallet Keezer

Best looking Keezer I've seen. When I build it will be similar to this. Thanks for the inspiration. The lighting just sets everything off.
