    1970s "Dark" Beer?

Generic beer in the 1970's - sold in a white can with black letters spelling "BEER". But I don't think they sold dark generic beer, because it would have added another word (DARK) to the can, and that would have made it even more expensive. Lol.

NEW Product Launch - Spike Brew Pump

@SpikeBrewing Please consider adding a FAQ page/link on your website page for the Spike Brew Pump. Looks like there have been lots of good questions and answers thus far, and maybe more yet to come. Like HP rating, for example. That way, the Q's and A's are all in one convenient place.

NEW Product Launch - Spike Brew Pump

What is the weight of the TC pump? Can a longer power cord be an option, say 8 or 10 ft? Just curious. Can't wait to turn it on!!!

How often and at what volume is everyone brewing?

Never over the legal limit for a homebrewer. Maybe someday though lol.

How do you know "how much is left in the keg"?

I give the keg a gentle tilt from time to time, and then again when I think it's getting close to empty. It's about as easy as figuring out if my beer glass is nearly empty too. Lol.

NEW Product Launch - Spike Brew Pump

Interesting! Love it. One could connect the pump TC suction directly to the Spike+ drain port, thus eliminating a suction isolation butterfly valve and hose (assuming the need to pump from just a single vessel, as in a BIAB setup). Maybe adequate supporting would need to be rigged up, IDK. And...

    Spike kettles vs Blichmann

Love my 15 gallon custom Spike+ with 5 TC ports (suction, whirlpool, recirc, temp, and element). And the steam condenser lid rocks - not a whisp of steam anywhere! I now never worry about boil-overs for 5 gallon batches either. Great product and outstanding customer support. Skip the 10-gallon...

    Withdrawn HotRod 110v heat stick

I don't have the HotRod, but I like my alternative. The heating element is super easy to change out, if ever needed. For your consideration @TandemTails see this: Post #10 at https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/using-120v-electric-to-pre-heat-mash-and-sparge-water.691715/post-9095334

Dry Hop Bag for 6.5 Gallon Big Mouth Bubbler

I was looking at getting a "Depth Charge" Dry Hop Filter to use for my 6.5 gallon plastic Big Mouth Bubblers (BMB). Some of the product reviews on this item included, but not limited to, being delicate, hard to clean, some sharp edges, and $$$. So, I wanted to try something different to use...

What do you use to weigh down dry hop/fruit bags?

    @Deadalus I use a sanitized 1.5" tri-clamp end cap. Works great. 79 grams.

What I did for beer today

Added my special tincture to 5 gallons of Mexican (Extra) Hot Chocolate Stout (all-grain) to the fermenter after 14 days since brew day. The tincture was 4 oz. cocoa nibs, 20 grams finely-diced habaneros (no seeds), and 6 oz. of Reyka (small batch vodka hand crafted in Iceland), that soaked 24...

    Kitchen stovetop induction BIAB

Induction heating is awesome! My Spike+ 15 gallon kettle on an Avantco IC3500 works perfect for BIAB full volume mash. No worries at all about the weight on the induction plate as it has a stainless frame for support. There is some overhang, but again no worries with that either. I set it to...
