Used keezer, deal or no deal?

I'm already going in with the DIY. I don't like DIY because of how much wood cutting it usually involves, but this is just me having Home Depot cut two 2x4s, or 2x6s, haven't decided yet. Couple that with the larger fridge, everything is new, and I know how to to troubleshoot rather than jump...

Used keezer, deal or no deal?

I'm sitting here watching the NorthernBrewerTV video with nearly 1 million views and as I tally it all up, immediately ready for 2 kegs, expandable with minimal effort to 4, I'm already up to $700. The freezer and lumber alone are inching on $300 ($235 after tax, lumber $30 after tax)... where...

Used keezer, deal or no deal?

I was foolish to be so hasty as I haven't looked into chest freezers since circa pandemic outbreak where the prices were absolutely ludicrous if they were even avaiable for 10 minutes before they were swiped up. An off brand 5 cubic foot freezer was running into the many hundreds... 7 cubic...

Used keezer, deal or no deal?

I want 4 taps and the ability to store an extra keg, so 5 kegs inside with the CO2 outside. It'd be nice if I could find a "parts list" because there's lots of small doohickeys alongside the main components like the freezer, gas manifold, kegs, CO2 tank..

Used keezer, deal or no deal?

I can have Home Depot cut the wood, I'm going in with the build. Buying a 7.1 CU freezer tomorrow.

Used keezer, deal or no deal?

Hi, I'd like some opinions on this used keezer. The gentleman might be on this forum for all I know. He is willing to drive about 1 hour north and deliver it, keezer and all the keezer supplies, none of the brewing gear, for $625. Is it a worthwhile deal? I am not very DIY-oriented, I'm...

    Keezer around pets

I cannot see a relatively sparse mesh, tight enough to keep hair out, destroying something that is already covered by a vent but with long slits, negligible impact to air flow and therefore thermal management. You would have to be able to gather enough dander directly out of the air to make a...

    Keezer around pets

Yes, converted. If it's got a vent, maybe I'll buy a fine mesh to put over it. It shouldn't cause harm to thermal management but keep the pet hair out. Dander, not so much, hopefully at that point it should be a non-issue and not damage the keezer.

    Keezer around pets

Hello, This may be a foolish question, but do keezers have any sort of mechanisms that would be hindered by pet dander and/or hair? I want to keep the keezer in my room, mostly due to lack of space elsewhere, but we have a German shepherd that stays in there and she sheds a blankets worth of...

Spike 20 gallon setup + Blichmann Hellfire w/ legs

I do have the box for everything, but... I've been avoiding shipping for quite a while. Maybe I'll look into a UPS quote and get back to you. Shipping it really is a last resort but if you cover the cost of shipping and the offer is reasonable, I will be willing.

O.G. and F.G. too high yet yield the correct difference

update : bottled this Two Hearted IPA clone on Nov - 21st. Put a bottle in the fridge 3 days ago and it tastes alright. I am going to grab another TH IPA to compare it to but it's not bad, I think it needs some more time in the bottle, it has a slight rubbing alcohol off-smell and taste... The...

O.G. and F.G. too high yet yield the correct difference

I can never tell what exactly to trust. I literally used the calculator you provided in the previous comment and it gave me those results for apparent attenuation.

O.G. and F.G. too high yet yield the correct difference

Nope, it’s already been bottled as I simply didn’t know... this was my second stuck brew, the first was another IPA that was a “partial BIAB” kit, some grains were mashed alongside extract... I posted on here about it and nothing could be done as far as I recall, I either had to dump it or...

O.G. and F.G. too high yet yield the correct difference

Sorry if my question was poorly made... that is indeed the calculator I used but I wanted to know based on an example: ~6% Beer 1 : OG 1.056, FG 1.010, apparent attenuation 81% ~6% Beer 2 : OG 1.080, FG 1.034, apparent attenuation 56% What will the major differences be?

O.G. and F.G. too high yet yield the correct difference

Any last ideas? Thermometer attached to kettle is calibrated, yeast health seemed fine as it showed great activity and went from 1.079 to 1.030, fermentation temperature is controlled, when I reheated my mash one time it was stirred constantly with a paddle, grain was freshly milled relatively...

O.G. and F.G. too high yet yield the correct difference

Yeast health seemed fine, I mean it was reharvested yeast after a two stage starter with much help in its preparation from people on here. Activity both during starter and tons during fermentation. I can recall I had already tested the thermometer it came with in perfectly chilled ice water and...

O.G. and F.G. too high yet yield the correct difference

I followed these instructions exactly : https://www.homebrewing.org/assets/images/Recipe_Instructions_2019/ag99-2660.pdf . My mash temp got a little low so I heated the mash one time, other than that I can’t think of any issues the entire time. My temp was definitely never below 149F and never...

O.G. and F.G. too high yet yield the correct difference

yep it’s roughly 1.000. My last two batches have been questionable. This will probably be the worst by far and the one I was looking forward to most. I’ve never done an all grain IPA before :/

O.G. and F.G. too high yet yield the correct difference

I don’t think I could’ve done anything else besides bottle today, it has been over 3 weeks in primary. There’s a possibility my hydrometer is broken. Upon inspection the inside looks a little weird compared to how I remember it... Fermentation was extremely busy for many days. I hope the batch...
