    Benefiber

I don't know a whole lot about it so could be way off-base with this idea. Have you looked into the gluten free methods of brewing? It may or may not lower the carbs but there might be a carb substitute used in GF recipes that would work better with your health needs.

Another bar build - Speakeasy style

The faux brick is the home run. Really pulls it all together! I was looking at that for part of my basement remodel.

Maybe I'm just not thinking clearly, but I'm really curious as to the purpose of your experiment?

Who is this guy I was talking to?

I suddenly have a craving for cupcakes and beer...and they must be consumed in an outhouse.

Can I use scoby from 1 gal batch to make 2.5 gal batch?

I didn't buy a scoby but used a store bought bottle of kombucha to get one. My goal was to make 2 batches for gifts, each 2 gallons. I split the store bottle into 2 (quart) jars equally and topped off with sweet black tea. Got a scoby formed in each quart jar and let them ferment awhile. I...

    Worm Farm / Spent Grain

I have a worm bin but haven't put spent grains in it. It's been a long time since I've messed with it, though. From what I remember, you basically treat it the same as a compost pile - no meat or dairy. I would save egg shells and grind them in a coffee grinder til it was fairly fine for...

    An all day cider

I wonder if diluting the juice with water would be a good way to keep the ABV down without losing too much flavor... Another option is to mix a higher ABV cider with something else when you serve it.

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Finally going to get brewing again this weekend after two long months without. Just an easy simcoe smash but I might throw together a blue moonish clone, too. I also need to keg a batch of apfelwein that's been in the fermentor for ~7 months. Probably should start another batch of that as...

12 Beers of Christmas 2018 Edition

I feel like a slacker already. I haven't even started researching what I need for mine yet. Guess I need to bump up the priority of shifting to all grain sooner so I can get a test run of the Abbey Weizen going!

@DeadYetiBrew that's a great story. I'm impressed the full carboy was moved with you each time!

    Notes Notes Notes

I don't get too crazy (yet) with brew day notes since I'm doing extract and haven't started water treatment. I'll make note of anything out of the ordinary, like the first batch on a new stove that got scorched. Once I get my sample off to Ward my notes will include water, and probably even...

Breaking all the rules - Cap'n Crunch Peanut Butter Crunch Beer (malt beverage)

My first thought (after wondering if it's a joke) was that you'd have unwanted oils from the coconut and peanuts. People have used those ingredients with steps taken to eliminate oils but not sure if they've both been used in the same batch. I've been wanting to try a peanut butter chocolate...

Hack: Wheeled Fermentor DOLLY at Harbor Freight

$8 is even better than the $13 I spent on a plant caddy from Lowes. They really are a huge help.

    Food Containers for fermenters?

I'm not sure if these would work for fermenting but they would be a super cheap option if they are. Go to your grocery store's bakery and ask for the empty icing buckets. The places here sell them for $1 but they're food grade, good seals on the lids, and you can get them in 1-5 gallon sizes...
