Err... I made a beginner mistake and never measured the original gravity (or I didn't record it - I forget). I've since learned about that, and... well... won't happen again. Can I use gurgling through the airlock as a rough indicator?

The sterilizer that I get at the local home brew shop lists the active ingredient as 3% hydrogen peroxide. Can I simply use hydrogen peroxide from the local chemist/pharmacy? (It's a lot closer & easier to get to.)
