Thanks for the comments Yambor and Beefeater. As far as brew day time- I am also at about 5 hours, sometimes less, even with a 90 minute boil. I've brewed on B3, SABCO, Gott coolers, regular coolers, and various other custom home systems. You won't get faster than the Speidel unless you brew...

Right. Optimally it would be a 1/2" hose barb off the spigot. All academic, I don't own one of these as of right now :)

On the outside. I would want to use a .5" ID hose on the output. Thorsten told me it's only 10mm but it's threaded and can be replaced. What's unclear is the thread size and diameter.

Would one of you kindly post the diameter of the spigot on the 50L model? I'm trying to determine what ID hose can be attached to it. I'm guessing .5" but I can't tell for sure. Thanks in advance.

Maybe you could try some stainless safety wire. Don't BMs now ship with fine SS screens used in conjunction with the coarse screen? If so, can they be purchased?

I'd like to hear a bit more about the OG limitation of 1.057 on this system (according to morebeer). I read a few months back in this thread but didn't see this addressed, maybe I missed it. It seems to me that the 50l system could easily brew a 20l batch of a big barleywine etc. Thanks.
