I made a version of the SWMBO Slayer and added strawberry extract in the secondary. This was more than enough to get my wife to like homebrew. Now she like most of what I make but I have to warn you.. I have not been able to get the Strawberry SWMBO Slayer out of my beer making rotation now...
Just remember this hobby can be as cheap as a single pot on the stove to as expensive as your SWMBO will allow! With this said make sure to brew beer your SWMBO will enjoy as the funds will be easier to obtain. :cross:
I know I may not be doing this correctly myself but normally I do not worry about it until at least 2 weeks in primary. At that time I check the gravity to make sure everything is looking good before either kegging or moving to secondary.
I never go by the airlock just normally check it...
I have just received my 50 plate chiller from kegcowboy but the sticker on the top has been almost completely worn off. Before I use this I would like to figure out which wort line to use in order to go against the ridges.
There is an arrow type marking on one of the ports as pictured below...
I have spent a lot more money when I like to admit with this company and have been very impressed thus far.
LOVE the quick shipping! Checkout to door step no more than 3 days! I wish other companies would be even half as fast..
Cheers

I am in the middle of a similar build using a relay so I purchased the Radio Shack version you used. With that said I noticed the relay is numbered differently than what you have numbered on your diagram. Do I go by the numbers or by the layout? Thanks..
Relay Layout is as follows..
I wish mine would have had a little more orange but I overly grounded my coriander which made it a little too over powering. Who knows maybe with the higher ferm temps you had you may get a little banana or clove taste both would be nice additions to a wit.

Although some recipes call for a 90 minute boil in your case it is probably a normal 60 minute. Add Northern Brewer hops at the start of the boil then 30 minutes later add some Cascade. Then finally add the aroma Cascade 15 minutes after that. After an additional 15 minutes pass you are done...
Currently looks very similar to mine, that is if I close my eyes and pretend. I think you may have fallen victim to epic photo fail or forgot the link. I am curious to see what you have going on.

I have had great results with adding wooden dowel rods (cut to length of the hole) into the hole then pressing them into the installation. This gave me the sturdiness I needed to tighten up the shank so it does not rotate after installation. Good luck..
Using new O-rings and some keg lube worked for me in the past. In your case it maybe old weak springs on the poppets in which case would need to be replaced.
Make sure to bring your old ones into the LHBS to get new ones as different manufactures have different sizes.
Good luck!
This thread got me thinking.. My brew music largely depends on my mood and company. My music pallet ranges vastly, for an example....
Killswitch Engage
Yardbirds
Mushroomhead
Tool
DRI
Zappa
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Arch Enemy
InFlames
Even a little Flock of Seagulls on my 80's kick...
Only time I have seen anything like this was when either plastic bucket had micro scratches hiding bugs or old transfer tubing. After replacing those off bitterness tastes went away. Not sure if this is your case or not but wanted to share my story.
Good Luck...

For a little more money you can go with one of these.

Hope it helps..
Not the best pics in the world but this is what I ended up making for a friend of mine. It was somewhat of a shame to cover up that stainless steel head on the chugger, but at least it is balanced in the toolbox.
